Love the Charger, but the App . . . .

It works I guess. It gives odd conflicting information about the State of Charge and sometimes it won’t give any information, it starts to connect and then goes back to then”connect” page. More times than not I get a Red Light Error that it’s reached “max” hours. I’ve had several discussions with Lester Support and they are sort of helpful but not completely. Maybe, they are too technical. It’s complicated bc there are issues that affect it that they don’t explain to you. I’m not an engineer. The merchant is no help either. The charger seems to have kept my batteries charged and in good shape, but the App leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve had this for several years and there has not been a single app update. Surely, the have repaired some bugs? I paid extra for this charger for the app use. I want reparations!

Good idea but

As of 8/3/23 still doesn’t work. I deleted the app and then downloaded it again. iOS 16.6
I have a 2008 Club Car golf cart that I replaced the charger with a Lester charger. It is an excellent charger, and does what I wanted. It should make battery maintenance this winter much easier. Now the for this app. When it works which isn’t very often is nice. I downloaded it to my iPhone, and it connected to Bluetooth and worked as advertised. I used it a second time, it worked again. Then after that it no longer shows up in my Bluetooth device list. When I run the app I see the serial number of my charger, so it knows that the charger is there. When you select the device, the spinning starts and you get the message reading data. Then you see the message no device found, and you are right back where you started. The fix was disconnect the charger from ac power, and disconnect from the battery. Delete the app from the iPhone. Reinstall the app, reconnect to the battery, but don’t plug in the charger. Next launch the app, and things are working again. Now you can plug in the charger. Then after you run the app a second time, you are right back where you started, and the delete sequence needs to be done again. Apparently the app seems to delete itself from the Bluetooth device list on my iphone. I hope they get the app fixed, because it is pretty worthless working like this.

Love the charger, the app sort of…

Most apps can be closed by swiping but not this app. You have to ‘disconnect’ the charger within the app’s directory FIRST or it will never reconnect without disconnecting a wire from the battery. Muscle memory closing apps has prompted me to revert to a hardware solution. I installed a disconnect switch on the negative lead so in the event I close this app, like every other app, I can at least reset the charger by turning a switch off then back on. That seems to fix the problem with this charger’s permanent Bluetooth connection if one leaves the app to take a phone call which also causes issues requiring a manual reboot. Suggestion: Put a big red disconnect button on the dashboard screen within the app or a reset button on the charger itself. Anything besides having to remove a terminal to reset the system.
