Koma

Spoegwolf's fourth studio album shows their maturation into wise balladeers. It's a concept album exploring trauma and the fates that befall its subjects. They diversify their sound with speak-sing flows (“Kar in Die Reën”) and ghostly beats (“Skemer (Maria)”), while retaining all of their familiar hallmarks: understated verses swelling into ardent choruses, liquid-guitar textures and frontman Danie du Toit’s soul-gripping vibrato. Meanwhile, "Lenie Blou III" hearkens to one of the Stellenbosch band’s earliest recordings.
