About Fred Mollin

Award-winning film and television composer Fred Mollin is also a veteran record producer and songwriter whose work ranges from children’s music to country and pop. ∙ A teenage rock musician, Mollin later moved to Toronto and became a record producer, most notably coproducing Dan Hill’s Grammy-nominated 1977 smash, “Sometimes When We Touch.” ∙ His many soundtrack credits include the Friday the 13th films and ’80s TV spin-off, the original Beverly Hills, 90210, and the Canadian vampire drama Forever Knight. ∙ In 1994, he won a Gemini Award—the Canadian equivalent of an Emmy—for Best Original Music Score for a Series, for the sci-fi drama Beyond Reality. ∙ Beginning in 2000, he produced and arranged several Disney’s Lullaby Album installments, and his group Blue Sea Band recorded numerous collections inspired by Disney and Pixar films. ∙ As a producer, Mollin specialized in duets by iconic artists, including the 2007 country hit “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” by Billy Ray Cyrus featuring Miley Cyrus. ∙ He colaunched Melody Place Music in 2020, whose second release—veteran singer Mandy Barnett’s album A Nashville Songbook—was a Top 40 US country hit.
