Linette confronts Diem about her decision to send her to Exile, one contestant's fear of heights threatens their team's standing in the Jump Down Under challenge, and one team is sent home.
The teams dive out of their comfort zones in Deep Blue, and alliances are tested when the weaker teams attempt to take out a top team in deliberation.
The battle for immunity is at an all time high when the players navigate a tough obstacle course, and then shock and awe abound when the Exile ends in surprise.
A twist in the Death Roll challenge gives the winning team an advantage, Diem and Tina come to blows over deliberation, and two teams in Exile are neck and neck for a spot in the finals.
The remaining three teams compete in an intense final challenge for a chance to take home $250,000.
This season, 10 men and 10 women make the trek for Brazil for “Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Duel”. Their goal: fight to win not only the grand prize, but the respect that goes hand-in-hand with the title of “Challenge” winner. But there’s a new twist: it’s not a team that will win the grand prize. As host TJ Lavin explains, each individual will be on their own throughout the competition and the last male and female standing will split the $300,000 grand prize.
The next event (a female Duel Day), places the 19 remaining in a waist-deep mud pit, swimming and wading through murky water in the Ring Toss event. Perhaps by mistake, the males take out everyone except Kenny, leaving him as the winner. Drama abounds as Beth pushes Tina to the edge. Tina takes a swing at Beth (and makes contact), which may send Tina packing.
Beth and Tina face-off, and after having thrown a punch that cut Beth, Tina is sent packing. Once again, the guys are up for The Duel, and Casey has the difficult decision of choosing between Kenny (Fresh Meat) and Tyler (Key West). When Tyler learns he'll be entering The Duel again, he makes the bold choice of calling out Derrick. While Aneesa realizes she needs to slither up to Beth, Derrick tells Beth that he's done trying to be nice to her -- and that her nasty energy will come back and bite her in the ass.
Aneesa feels the pain when she realizes that she cannot trust anyone in this game. A violent roller derby proves to be one of the toughest challenges in history -- with one of the greatest prizes in Challenge history.
In another amazingly physical challenge, the guys face against the guys, and the girls face off against one another in "Push Over", where the last man standing wins safety. Beth is continuously irritated by the "Drama Mafia" (Diem, Jodi, Kina, and Robin) and finds an unlikely ally in Aneesa. A burgeoning romance between Beth and Nehemiah raises eyebrows in the house.
Romantic sparks fly between CT and Diem (who continues to be supported by the Drama Mafia). In a height-related challenge, Casey faces her fears about jumping over large bodies of water -- and loses. The secret alliance of Aneesa, Beth, Casey, Nehemiah, Svetlana, and Wes is exposed.
