Things are back to normal around Fairy Tail and everyone is busy going about doing jobs... or actually, some people are working harder than ever before! The Master has some kind of big announcement to make and Lucy's really curious what all the hubbub is about... It's time for the once a year, S Class Wizard Advancement Exam! But who will the Master pick to be eligible to participate, and who will they pick as their partners?

Eight wizard duos travel to an island rich with magic - but only one wizard will be given S-Class ranking.

In a tunnel below Tenroujima, Natsu runs into Gildarts, the strongest wizard in Fairy Tail. Gildarts aims to teach Natsu a lesson he'll never forget, even if it means failing Natsu at the S Class Wizard Advancement Exam...

The teams arrive on Tenroujima and the first test of the S Class Wizard Advancement Exam begins! There are 8 paths to choose from, and luck determines just who breezes through and who has to face Erza, Gildarts, or Mirajane!

The guild comes across a strange person in the forest who has a deadly magic power and seems to recognize Natsu. Meanwhile, the strongest of the dark guilds - Grimoire Heart - approaches the island, and they've got plans for the mysterious wizard.

Advanced forces from Grimoire Heart have shown up on Tenroujima, Fairy Tail's holy grounds! Running into Levy and Gajeel would seem like bad luck, but these lackeys are a cut above! It's an all out guild war, and this time Gajeel is on Fairy Tail's side!

With Grimoire Heart closing in, Master Makarov makes a stand. Meanwhile, Mest isn't the only intruder on the island, as one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, Azuma, shows up with a bang! The war has only begun...
