The Prodigy crew crash lands on future Solum where they encounter Chakotay and the Protostar, and must ensure the ship is sent back to Tars Lamora. When things go astray, they accidentally create a time paradox that endangers Gwyn's very existence.

In a race to save Gwyn, the Prodigy crew must use their scientific knowhow to escape the dark future they are stranded in and travel back in time to present-day Solum, with some mysterious help from an unknown entity.

After saving Gwyn during the botched mission, the Prodigy crew faces new scrutiny from Admiral Janeway aboard Voyager. But hope is not lost if they can find the Protostar and repair the time paradox by decoding a cryptic message from Murf.

Ready to embark on their quest to find the Protostar, the Prodigy crew creates hologram versions of themselves in hopes to leave Voyager undetected. Unfortunately, their holo doubles jeopardize everything in a case of mistaken identity.
