Richie resents Virgil's blossoming friendship with Daisy, and Virgil is annoyed at Richie's constant interference of Static's activities. These resentments strain their friendship. At the same time, Static must battle Slipstream, who controls winds. When Slipstream almost defeats Static, Richie comes to the rescue.

Sharon's new boyfriend, a musician, is revealed to be Static's old nemesis Rubberband Man, who recently escaped from prison. This time, Rubberband Man will stop at nothing to reveal Static's secret identity, and with Sharon hiding him at home, our hero is at a large disadvantage.

Angered that his father ignores him, Edwin Alva's son applies his vast scientific knowledge to manipulate the properties of the Big Bang gas. He turns himself into a multipowered being so he can destroy Alva's businesses. At the same time, Virgil and Robert argue over what appears to be Virgil's increasing irresponsibility.

Static's latest nemesis, Replay, can create energy clones of himself. During battle, Sharon becomes suspicious that Virgil and Static are the same and decides to prove her theory correct. To make things worse for our hero, Static unexpectedly comes into contact with Replay, resulting in an "evil" clone of Static!

Everything happening to Virgil reminds him of how much he misses his deceased mother, Jean. Virgil must deal with his feelings of loss, even as he tangles with Tantrum, a repressed student whose irrational outbursts of anger turn him into a massive being of brute force destroying everything in his path.

Known as "Uncle J" to the meta-humans, The Joker is wreaking havoc on the citizens of Dakota. Wherever The Joker can be found, the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin cannot be far behind.

Richie is jealous of Virgil's superpowers and Static's popularity in Dakota. An encounter with the "Ragtag Man" gives Richie the temporary ability to have his own superhero powers.

Bullying Boom and his shy younger sister, Mirage--a new brother-sister Metahuman team--use their powers to create elaborate sound-based images to terrorize Dakota.

Virgil's dad reaches ultra-cool status when NBA friend, SHAQUILLE O'NEAL comes to Dakota. Unfortunately, Shaq's schedule is overbooked, leaving Virgil and Shaq no time to play basketball.

It's Christmas time in Dakota, but Static's holiday spirit is put on freeze by Permafrost. Static discovers that Permafrost is a homeless teen with a troubled past.

The Dakota City area is bombarded with sunspots, a phenomenon that boosts Static's powers to an uncontrollable degree.
