    The Real Thing RPG

    The Real Thing RPG

Welcome to another episode of the Two D Ten podcast! This week I sat down with Jason Ward and Jason Peercy about their upcoming RPG, The Real Thing, based on the music of Faith No More. The Real Thing is a self-contained, story-driven, pen-and-paper tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) inspired by the music of Faith No More. Specifically, we have drawn significant story elements and inspiration from Faith No More’s album from 1989 entitled The Real Thing. It was groundbreaking at the time and remains one of the best albums ever created, in our humble opinions. More to the point, however, is the fact that many of the songs revolve around similar themes and ideas, making it a perfect album around which to craft a concept RPG.

    Mondo Cane Publishing

    Mondo Cane Publishing

Thanks for coming back to the Two D Ten podcast! I’ve been gone for a while, but now I’m back. I’ll be publishing one episode a month unless I publish more due to special guests or events.

This month, I sat down with MARK Q ANDERSON and RICK WHEELER from Mondo Cane Publishing. We chat about recording podcasts, doing reviews, the origins of Mondo Cane Publishing, and more.

“Mondo Cane Publishing is an independent tabletop gaming development organization based in the United States that is creating tabletop traditional and tabletop roleplaying games which are evocative of the strange and occult. We are enthusiastic creators weaving settings and stories in the horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure genres. We’re also providing writing and game development support for the indie TTRPG market. Tabletop gaming is the passion that we share with so many others around the world, and we strive to develop games, systems, and accessories that bring magic and wonder to the table of avid players and gamemasters.”

    Sabbat, Black Hand Review

In this episode, I sit down with frequent guest and my wife, Rachel, to talk about the new Sabbat book for Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition. We offer two different perspectives in this review based on our individual experience with V:tM, the length of time we’ve played, as well as our personal experience with writing and storytelling.

A video review is in the works. Check out my YouTube for more information.

Sabbat: The Black Hand is a supplement for the Vampire: The Masquerade Roleplaying Game, outlining in detail the lore and background of the Sabbat, including new Paths and Disciplines, histories, and new Storyteller resources for a richer roleplaying experience.

Looking Forward to the Next Steps

I listened pretty avidly to another podcast that Nate was part of and this one, too. I was worried that he was leaving podcasting behind entirely, but I’m glad he’s back. He’s very easy to listen to and the subjects tackled are entertaining. I look forward to this next iteration of the podcast and future guest hosts and episodes!

Great podcast

Especially now that they're reviewing Storyteller's vault & other RPGs. Keep it up!

Entertaining and thought provoking at the same time. There are episodes that I go back and listen to again.
