The ELA Crossover ,

Excellent introduction to the field!

As a veteran ELA teacher tasked mid-career with an interdisciplinary history prep, this podcast has been indispensable to me for understanding the lay of the SS field in just a few weeks of listening to episodes that piqued my interest. I now have language for all the weird pet struggles of secondary history teachers that have just never made sense to me as someone with a lit/ELA background. Document sets, inquiry, the history of textbooks, debates within the field about the purposes of SS education — all of these were topics I had hunches about while teaching my new prep, but now I have the disciplinary language to interrogate assumptions and advocate for innovation within my department. Thank you for this PD!

Amazing resource for future educators!!

We listened to this podcast throughout the course of this semester for our social studies class and wow. It is helpful, resourceful, inspiring, passionate, and packed with information that if you are future educator you won’t want to miss!

Excellent resource for all educators

Michael, Dan and the guests always do a great job introducing and discussing the topics in a way that makes them easy to understand and engage with.
I really like the casual banter and discussion throughout the episodes. It really makes listening feel like I’m just sitting in a room with friends, having interesting conversations.
Keep up the great work!!
