Non-Inclusive, Outdated, Non-Advice

HEY! Short review: What a load of crap.
Longer review: Know that this podcast is only for women, with Dr Mike giving GENIUS insight (sarcasm here) to sum up Dr. Crystal’s info, for example saying,”Yes! Oxygen must go around,” after talking about anemia. Also humble bragging that HE only needs zinc or iron from his multi-vitamin, and HE can’t stand “too woodsy” green tea (great endorsement Mikie, way to minimize and/or just negate what your colleague is recommending). All the studies cited, from drinking green tea (or taking green tea capsules), to taking zinc and iron supplements are done on FEMALES: non-pregnant women, pregnant women, menstruating teen girls, non-menstruating teen girls or children. I guess men don’t get obese or anemic, just annoying (oh, whatever DO you take for that, Mike?).
Plus they’re still talking about BMI as a reliable health marker?! Updateth thyselves Mike and Crystal! A couple months ago (June 2023) the AMA's Council on Science and Public Health said that BMI is an "imperfect way to measure body fat in multiple groups, given that it does not account for differences across race/ethnic groups, sexes, genders and age-span." Nor does it “differentiate between fat and lean mass or account for where body fat is located.”
Waist measurement alone is not indicative of overall health either. I feel dumber after listening to you two. Ugh.
