Episode on Adding Hunting to your Operation
In many states, you can also check out your state’s public hunting and fishing lease program through your state fish and game agency. In Nebraska this program (Open Fields and Waters) provides an annual per acre payment based on habitat type, takes care of signage, and waives the landowner of all liability through the Nebraska Recreational Liability Act. Additional cost share and technical assistance for habitat improvements (cedar tree removal, prescribed fire, or even incentives to help cover costs of CRP management) can also be available. Contact your Nebraska Game and Parks Office for more information.
