I’m still Evo Terra ,

Listen to the Ranch!

I'm not sure if this show is seriously funny, or funny in spite of being serious. Either way, the attention to detail in the production will put an extra smile on your face.

Comedy! Noir! Mystery! Murder!

“Divorce Ranch” takes the classic noir and western genres, sets them in the period we would expect, but then throws in the curveball of a modern point of view. At the heart of this missing person’s mystery is a very serious and poignant take on mid-century feminist movements, the struggle against oppression at a time some talking heads would refers to as a golden age of family values, and the liberating notion of divorce as a reclamation of autonomy. We see snapshots of different women’s lives, their reasons for going to the Divorce Ranch, and the need for this escape, the possibility of a better life. But I really appreciated the fact that these women were not perfect. The show presents flawed, human characters, doing their best in an unfair world. And their stories are, upsettingly, quite relevant for our times. 10/10
