Ep 01: God Only Knows the Answer

Elizabeth Mackintosh was killed in the chapel basement at Covenant Theological Seminary. The right tour guide will point out the spot, but Covenant hosts no memorial for her. And it’s not like Elizabeth was a stranger passing through… she was a well-respected student at the time she was killed. It’s been 33 years since her death, so why are some people still finding out about it for the first time? Because for all practical purposes any traces of her, and the fact that a murder eve...

An Important Story

I lived in the St. Louis area and was in the PCA when Elizabeth’s murder happened. It has always puzzled me that it was never solved. This has been interesting and I would like to see it solved and the seminary honor her death with a memorial. My only reason for not giving this podcast a 5-star rating was the use of profanity, especially the taking of the Lord’s name in vain, a violation of the 10 Commandments.

Excellent reporting!

Like many others, I enjoy the investigative aspect of this show. The way that the producers delve into the material shows intentionality and care. But I also really appreciate how they contextualize the case. As a PCA pastor’s kid, I find the larger conversation about the culture of the denomination to be important and timely. Love this podcast!

Very interesting true crime, but a lot of weeds to sift through

Great podcast, but wishing it were two different podcasts. One on the unsolved murder and one on the PCA deep dive. A lot of the content about the PCA seems irrelevant to the murder as of right now. Of course, if it turns out the murder was committed by a student who later became a pastor or leader in the PCA, then there’s a whole lot of this content that would be relevant. Maybe start a second podcast or save some for a second season? Overall, a good podcast and enjoyable commentary. Can’t wait for more episodes!
