In this episode, we are introduced to the world of the Ramayan and its main protagonist, Rama. The episode begins with a description of the kingdom of Ayodhya, ruled by King Dasharatha, and his three wives, Kaushalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi.
We then witness the grand sacrifice performed by King Dasharatha to please the gods, seeking their blessings for a son who will inherit his kingdom. The gods are pleased and soon after, Rama is born to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya.
As the episode progresses, we see the young Rama growing up in Ayodhya and developing a close bond with his brothers, Bharata, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna. We also witness the announcement of Rama's impending coronation as the heir to the throne, much to the delight of the people of Ayodhya.
However, the plot takes an unexpected turn when Queen Kaikeyi, jealous of Rama's popularity and driven by her own selfish desires, manipulates King Dasharatha into exiling Rama to the forest for 14 years, while her own son, Bharata, is crowned king in his place.
Throughout the episode, we see the themes of duty, loyalty, and honor being explored, as Rama and his family grapple with the difficult decisions they must make in order to maintain their sense of righteousness and uphold their obligations to their kingdom.

In this episode, we continue to follow the story of Rama and his family as they face the consequences of Queen Kaikeyi's treacherous plot. We witness the heart-wrenching scene of Rama bidding farewell to his beloved wife Sita and loyal brother Lakshmana before setting off on his exile to the forest.
As Rama and Lakshmana journey into the forest, we see them encountering various obstacles and challenges, including the demoness Surpanakha, who attempts to seduce Rama and is punished by having her nose cut off by Lakshmana.
Meanwhile, back in Ayodhya, King Dasharatha is overcome with grief and guilt over his actions, eventually leading to his death. In this episode, we see Rama and Lakshmana continuing their journey to Lanka, as they gather allies and build their army to rescue Sita. They encounter various tribes and kingdoms along the way, each with their own unique culture and customs.
Meanwhile, the powerful warrior Hanuman sets out on a quest to find Sita and deliver a message of hope and support from Rama. He travels across the sea to Lanka, encountering various obstacles and challenges along the way, including the demoness Lankini.

In the fifth episode of Ramayan, Rama and Lakshmana continue to accompany Vishwamitra on his journey to protect his yagna from the demons. As they approach the ashram of Gautama, they learn about Ahalya's curse and her need for redemption. Rama, being the compassionate and virtuous person he is, takes it upon himself to restore Ahalya's honour and free her from her curse. Meanwhile, Vishwamitra, Rama and Lakshmana face many challenges from the demons who are trying to disrupt Vishwamitra's yagna. In the sixth episode of Ramayan, Rama, Lakshmana, and Vishwamitra arrive at the city of Janakpur, the capital of Mithila. Janak, the king of Mithila, has announced a competition to find a suitable husband for his daughter, Sita, and many princes and kings have come to participate. Vishwamitra hopes that Rama will prove his strength and skills in the competition, and also wishes to see Sita and evaluate her qualities as a wife for Rama.
As Rama and Lakshmana enter the city, they witness the grandeur and beauty of Mithila and are impressed by its people and customs. Janak receives them warmly and invites them to participate in the competition. As the episode progresses, we see Rama and Lakshmana showcasing their skills in archery, wrestling, and other activities, impressing the assembled audience and winning the admiration of Janak.
Meanwhile, Sita also watches the competition from afar and is impressed by Rama's skill and character. She develops a deep admiration and respect for him, which will play a crucial role in their later interactions.
As the sixth episode of the Ramayan TV show, this episode sets the stage for the upcoming events in the story, as Rama and Sita's fateful encounter draws nearer. It also highlights the themes of strength, skill, and merit, as the princes and kings compete to win Sita's hand, and the importance of virtue and character, as Rama and Lakshmana demonstrate their impeccable conduct and honourable intentions.
