The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. Gabriel Luna (True Detective) as Joel’s younger brother and former soldier, Tommy; Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us video games, The Flight Attendant) as resistance leader Marlene; and Anna Torv (Fringe) as Tess, a smuggler and fellow hardened survivor.

Written and executive produced by Craig Mazin (HBO’s Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann, of The Last of Us and Uncharted video game franchises.

My go to after each episode

Sometimes I’m more excited for these companion conversations than the actual show. Listen to Pop Culture Leftovers main show, they are the best

Perfect Companion Podcast!!!

Pop Culture Leftovers is one of the funniest & best entertainment & pop culture podcasts out there. And when I heard they were doing The Last Of Us podcast, I couldn’t have been more excited. Brian, Joe & the co-hosts really do their homework in preparing for each episode. They do a deep dive into each episode, and truly helps in understanding the little nuances that I might not have picked up on while watching. They also compare the differences between the show and the game. It’s really a must listen after the show each week. They put the same care & time into their other podcast they have for the Amazon show, The Rings Of Power, which I also highly recommend.

Locked In

I’m a 26 year old black man and on the surface wouldn’t have anything to relate with when it comes to a handful middle aged white men, but I’ve been listening to PCL since I was 19. Will consume almost anything Brian and Jake (now Joe) will come up with. Except Rings of Power. I don’t mess with Tolkien.
