Two high-profile events of the week - one external, the other internal. Putin traveled to China, and Belousov replaced Shoigu as defense minister. The mainstream view of these events is specific: supposedly the friendship between China and Russia has strengthened, and the strong economist Belousov will now strengthen the military-industrial complex.
Vladimir Milov thinks differently. No serious agreements were reached between Putin and Xi Jinping, despite the record-breaking large delegation. Russia is completely under the rule of China, and China is not going to be a partner, it is simply pumping out resources. As for Belousov, Milov believes that at best he will not be able to change anything, and at worst he will simply break things up, due to lack of outstanding talents, and a track record of ruined projects.
