Creepy, but not without its problems

The story on this one has drawn me in, but I get frustrated listening to it. What is the point of dialogue we can’t understand? It’s hard to get into an episode when I have to keep skipping back to understand what was said. I feel like the show gets in its own way trying to be cool and edgy by layering dialogue over dialogue, but it becomes just noise. If I wanted just noise I could take my headphones out and listen to the highway nearby. I also fell like having three characters with names so similar is confusing (Sean, Shane, and Sam) especially since they all pretty much just sound like generic white guys. But something about the story keeps me coming back. The show is not without its merits and I am excited to see what comes next.

Horrifyingly Haunting

The final scene of the first season haunts my waking days and my nightmares. It’s chilling and visceral; it makes me feel uneasy anytime I think of it. Amazing storytelling

Sexually Repressed Religious Trauma

I kind of get what this podcast is getting at. However, it definitely yada-yadas too much. Like there will be long stretches, like over 2 minutes, of only nature sounds or background music, no story. Then, you get to the story and it’s so over-produced with dialogue overlaid that it’s hard to understand. Maybe that’s the point? Hopefully, the next season will be better.
