The Bizarre History of Embodyment
In 1998 the band Embodyment released an album called Embrace the Eternal that expertly combined Death Metal and early Metalcore, and then they suddenly changed their entire sound seemingly overnight. This episode explores the history of this band and tries to uncover exactly what it was that brought on such a massive change for the band after only one album.

Rediscovering: Reroute to Remain by In Flames
This week on the podcast I am joined by childhood friend Buddy as we discuss our origins and continued appreciation for ReRoute to Remain by In Flames. I share a story about my dad warning me about the album cover sending me to hell and how Buddy god rid of all of his non Christian music only to turn back and reobtain this album first.

Rediscovering: Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Linkin Park's debut album changed everything for Nu Metal and Hard Rock in the early 2000's. By introducing harder elements in a more digestible and family friendly package, Linkin Park was able to establish a much larger install base of fans than their contemporaries at the time. In this video I share my memories of hearing Linkin Park for the first time, go over every song on Hybrid Theory, and discuss the impact that Linkin Park had on teenagers in the year 2000 and beyond.

Rediscovering: The Crimson Corridor by Zao
The Crimson Corridor is a record that makes me ask myself uncomfortable questions about the meaning of existence and the nature of the universe we live in. It delves deep into topics that most people would like to avoid and yet I find myself constantly drawn to those questions due to the compelling way they are presented on this album. Join me for the last time this season as we deep dive into the existential horror that is The Crimson Corridor by Zao.

Customer Reviews
Well-Developed and Engaging!
Throw nostalgia, well-constructed essay-like discussions, and great audio quality into a blender and get this GREAT podcast on looking back at metal music and growing up in a rather niche community. It’s one of the most engaging podcasts I have in my subscriptions!
Magnetic North
Wish the mag north talk was longer dude. Hopesfall is seriously my favorite band of all time and this is such a great album. I feel like everyone’s stuck on satellite years, which yes is an incredible album and deserves the recognition but magnetic north needs to be talked about and shared more. It’s perfect. Thanks for this episode!
Great stuff
Just listened to the Norma Jean episode about redeemer. Very good podcast. Definitely worth your time if you’re into these things. Thank you for the content.
