    086. Jena Holliday: Rewriting the Starving Artist Narrative

Almost every artist I’ve interviewed on this show has had some variation of the same story: I didn’t think it was possible to make a living doing what I love. Although today’s guest grew up in a creative home, she always viewed art as a hobby – partly because of an offhand comment from a teacher who told her that being an artist wasn’t a career. Today, Jena Holliday is a full-time illustrator, author, and entrepreneur. She’s the visionary behind Spoonful of Faith, a creative haven specializin...

I’ve found my people

When I listened to Shanna’s interviews on this podcast I find myself just wanting to shout YES to pretty much everything. It feels like I’ve found my people as I listen to each one. Such great discussions about self-employment, motherhood, and building the life you want for you and your family. This is one of my top 3 podcasts easily.

My Weekly Self Employed Pick Me Up

Shanna offers great insight and encouragement not only on the financial side of business but the life side too. I appreciate how her guests share their realities of business and how even the shiny achievements come with a cost too. This podcast is the perfect weekly motivation to keep cultivating my business.

My FAVORITE business podcast!!

Shanna has a gift of drawing out the deep wisdom of her guests. I’ve heard other podcast interviews with some of the same guests Shanna has but they didn’t come close to the depth and heart of this podcast! The guest she brings on are incredible. Many of them I’ve never heard of before but they each bring a unique story, perspective, and way to thrive as an an entrepreneur that’s different than what’s typically thrown in our faces as “successful”. Each episode leaves me feeling encouraged in my own entrepreneurial journey AND with a few gems of wisdom to pocket for later. Thank you Shanna for bringing these inspiring voices to the podcast!!
