He moved to London for music school in the early aughts and played drums in a band called “The Tide.” When he realized that raising his kids might take sliiiight precedence over chasing the ever-elusive record deal, he moved to Pittsburgh and started writing on his own. -

Elliott-born Ryan Douglass played for Bishop Canevin High School where, in his freshman year, he threw a no hitter in the WPIAL semifinals. After high school, Ryan was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 13th Round of the MLB Draft. After playing professional baseball for nine years, Ryan founded the Ryan Douglass Field of Dreams Baseball Clinic, which provides free clinics to children ages 6-12. Registration is now open for the 18th Annual Clinic, which will take place on April 13th.

Chrissy Costa and Mara Rago - Born and raised in East Liberty, Chrissy Costa is a Second City-trained stand-up comedian and writer who does all kinds of other things to pay her bills. Chrissy regularly performs at Arcade Comedy Theater and other downtown venues, and you can catch her live on stage on April 6th at Comedy and Rock at the Carnegie. You can also catch Chrissy in all her hilarity hosting a tour aboard The Burgh Bus.
Since 1994, photography has been Mara Rago’s life. Specializing in fine art nudes, Mara has had 27 art exhibitions and has been chosen 5 times for the Three Rivers Arts Festival Juried Exhibits. Mara just completed her first film documentary titled, Carla. about a middle age trans woman who lived a very eccentric life as Carl Beck Jr., a musician/lead singer of a rock band before her transition.

Semper Gratus is a non-profit organization that supports pediatric patients affected with cancer, disease, or disabilities in addition to kind initiatives. Now in its 8th year, the org’s Shamrock Shuffle 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk will take place on Saturday, March 23. The event has raised close to $300,000 and helps several nonprofits including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Cerebral Palsy, Alzheimer’s Association, STXBP1, and Familylinks. “Semper Gratus” is Latin for “Always Grateful.”

Z-Town Street Band - Tony Sorce (lead singer and rhythm guitarist) and Mark Bergfelt (back-up vocals, fiddle & mandolin) met at an open stage! After a few meet-ups and rehearsals, they combined to be the Z-Town Street Band. How did they get the name? More importantly, what did they provide as their junk drawer items. Then they sing and create an in-studio revival.
