Immediately Hooked!
I am also looking for new queer fiction podcasts to check out and this is truly one of the best I’ve found! Honestly the production quality is so fantastic and the story so compelling I was extremely surprised to find out it wasn’t already popular!
There is so much combined into one fantastic podcast- just the premise alone is great, but once it begins you realize there is so much more to experience. The idea of ghost disposal being a corporate enterprise is just too real, and the way Leo (and later other characters) discuss the practices and the pains of working at this kind of place are so relatable.
Not to mention- the show is FUNNY! The main feeling is definitely heart-wrenching and sadly sweet but there are so many parts that give me a good chuckle, especially the queer panic of Leo and sarcastic researcher best friend
Overall this is a fantastic listen and I really hope this show takes off. Give it a listen and I promise you’ll be hooked!
A new fave
I was immediately hooked by the premise of this show, and the execution did not disappoint. Each spirit's story is fascinating and often touching on its own, but also contributes to a solid ongoing plotline with several moving parts. I love how the scope and style of the narration evolves as Leo gets farther in their research - it's a great example of form following content in a way that feels very organic. I'm here for the ride, and I can't wait to see how the mysteries unfold.

I stumbled upon Tell No Tales from an ad in another podcast (Maybe Monstrous Agonies? Hard to tell.) and I absolutely love it. Leo Quinn works for Better Place, a company that works in removing ghosts. However, Leo isn’t 100% behind the ethics of Better Place and is working on a device that will allow the ghosts to tell their side of the story. She tracks down old case files and asks the ghosts questions, while we get to hear the answers. Leo is a wonderful character and narrator. The voice that Leo is given is perfect for describing what happens each time she goes out to interview another ghost, including both good and bad results. Riley is a great side character, playing somewhat of a foil to Leo’s fast and loose approach to her project. And while the plot of Tell No Tales would be good on its own, there are clues that things aren’t exactly what they seem. Does Better Place have the best interests of the spitfires and their families in mind? Or is there something more sinister going on?
