    What’s Next for this Podcast + FREE 14-Day Course – Ep317

In today’s episode I’m sharing with you some new additions that I’m going to bring to my work as well as to this podcast.

I haven’t talked about it a lot but I’ve experienced quite a bit of anxiety, depression and chronic pain over the years.

About a year ago I started a journey of deeper self-development work. I started working with a coach to understand how I could feel better.

Almost a year later, although I still have ups and downs, I am feeling a LOT better! I’m going to share with you some of the things that I have discovered about myself and what has changed as a result of a lot of inner work.

Because I am so passionate about this topic, I want to pay it forward and bring more of this work into this podcast and into my future content on social media too.

The strength training and nutrition coaching won’t go anywhere, but you will definitely see more emphasis than before on mental health.

Losing Weight, Healing Hormones and Increasing Energy: Success Story with Jerrica Johnson – Ep316

Losing Weight, Healing Hormones and Increasing Energy: Success Story with Jerrica Johnson – Ep316

It’s time for another success story!

My guest today is Jerrica Johnson.

Jerrica shares her story about the ups and downs with her health, and one part of this is also gaining and losing weight multiple times.

She tried everything to get her weight down: She eliminated all carbs from her diet, then all meat and eggs: she ate just one meal a day and did water fasts. She also did way too many HIT and cardio workouts, more than what her body was able to recover from.

At first, it “worked” and she lost a lot of weight. But after some time, she started noticing changes like irregular periods, hot flashes, achy joints and weight gain. Eventually, no matter what she tried, she could not lose weight anymore.

Her doctor’s advice was this: She should go on hormone replacement therapy. Jerrica figured that given her age (26), there had to be a better, more natural solution.

After lots of searching and Googling, she came across my YouTube channel and contacted me. That was about 7 months ago.

To her surprise, starting to eat more and starting weight lifting were the solutions to her problems. She is feeling a lot stronger now, her energy is back, she has lost weight and gained a lot of muscle, periods normal again, and she feels like a new person!

I hope you enjoy today’s episode.

3 Types of Fitness Personalities – Which One Is You? – Ep315

3 Types of Fitness Personalities – Which One Is You? – Ep315

There are 3 types of personalities when it comes to fitness working out:

    1. The one who is obsessed with every workout, can’t miss one, and beats herself up when she doesn’t do everything perfectly.

    2. The one who is very inconsistent with workouts, more workouts are missed than done, and she wonders why she is not getting results

    3. The one who I call the Middle Ground person — she has a healthy, balanced approach to fitness, she is consistent with her workouts but also knows when to take a break to rest and recover and without any guilt.

Check out today’s episode to learn about each type and see who do you resonate with the most!

Women Over 40: THIS Should Be Your Main Focus – Ep314

Women Over 40: THIS Should Be Your Main Focus – Ep314

Us women are so used to the message that we have to lose weight, no matter what. We hear it all the time.

But here’s the thing: If you are a woman who is 40 years old or older, you need to stop dieting all the time and start putting much more emphasis on muscle building! Yes, it is true that hormonal shifts after 40 can make maintaining our body composition a bit more difficult, but that also means that there’s even more reason to become very intentional about HOW we treat our bodies. Intense diets and HIT classes are not the way to go about it.

It’s common to say that hormones are wrecking our health and that our metabolism just gets so slow and there’s nothing we can do about it. But it’s not true – we can strength train, and that’s really the most beneficial thing we can do.

Let’s Talk About Stress: What You Can HANDLE vs What’s OPTIMAL for You – Ep313

Let’s Talk About Stress: What You Can HANDLE vs What’s OPTIMAL for You – Ep313

This episode is for more sensitive people who may be impacted by stress stronger than less sensitive people.

The problem is that in our society, the push harder, go faster, do more mentality is glorified, so people think that they need to do all this to be valuable.

So they take on more work responsibilities, more extra tasks for their kids’ school, and when it comes to working out, they think that they need to do MORE to get better results.

But this often leads to burnout!

My message today is this: Just because we can handle all that stress, doesn’t mean that we should take on all that stress because from our health perspective it’s often more than optimal. If you’re a highly sensitive person, you need to find ways to reduce stress, not add more.
