Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders with Dr. Kelly Bhatnagar

Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders with Dr. Kelly Bhatnagar

Disordered eating and eating disorders – two separate issues along a single continuum – are widespread among tweens and teens. While these struggles aren’t new, rates are up and people are talking about them more openly. This episode starts by defining terminology like anorexia, bulimia, bingeing, purging, bigorexia, and orthorexia. Then we get into all of the reasons why kids (and adults) might experience one or more.

Help with navigating the teen years

Mom of two (very different!) kids. Since my kids hit middle school and now high school it’s been emotionally challenging for me to navigate how to parent them and grow our relationship. I wasn’t prepared for how different it would be from their grade school years. I’ve turned to many podcasts and resources looking for insight and help. Personally podcasts work best with my life as I’m able to listen during my nighttime hikes with the family dog. This podcast has been the best one I’ve found that covers an array of topics, has valuable content with guest speakers and seems to be open and affirming. Thank you for showing up and doing this important work that us parents can greatly benefit from!

Love the show, cue your ad breaks!

Love this show, but please consider adding at the very least a second of silence before the ad breaks- it’s so disorienting as it cuts in while you’re talking. A little fade in, fade out music could serve as a cue, you don’t even need to tell us you’re going to a break… truly love the show so accept this critique with love!

Great information and fun to listen to!

My boyfriend is a single dad with a tween and I find it very helpful to hear lots of relevant discussions and a reminder that “you are not alone “ in dealing with the latest challenge.
