Finally!! A Celebration of CCM History

As a teenager and young Jesus follower in the late 70s/early 80s, I was so excited to discover a whole new world of artists making great music that intentionally focused on Christ. As I delved into the myriad artists and albums, I quickly developed favorites that I followed with the same fan loyalty as I had other bands. But I began to notice that with each new release from one of my favorites bands, it seemed like their earlier work was forgotten and ignored, a if each new release was the only thing that artist had ever done. I noticed there seemed to be no sense of a developing artist or appreciation gif the history of this musical movement. Every new album was treated like a stand alone event with no context for the work that had gone before.
That’s why I love Dave Lowman’s Legacy podcast! Finally, someone who presents an overall picture of an ongoing musical evolution and helps give context and a sense of history to some great albums and artists who deserve respect for what they have accomplished. I’ve been on both sides of the CCM world, as a fan and an artist. I appreciate the depth and breadth of insight David brings to this countdown. I eagerly await the next episode because he always introduces me to a band or album I never heard before. I keep my Apple Music search feature busy during every new episode. Well done, Mr. Lowman!!
