Rose with Liz Knight + Sweet Rose Dukkah Recipe

What a treat you have in store with today’s episode about the lovely (and, as you’ll see, very yummy!) rose plant. The best teachers breathe love and life into what they’re teaching. And my guest today, Liz Knight, is no exception! She reminds me of a little fairy, with her sparkly smile and deep rooted love of the green world.
I know you’re going to love Liz, the bits of culinary and life wisdom she sprinkled like flower petals throughout our conversation, and last but not least, her wonderful recipe for Sweet Rose Dukkah. (There’s a free, downloadable and printable recipe card available just for you.)
By the end of this episode, you’ll know:
► Twelve hints for working with roses in food and drink
► A surprising way to enhance the taste of olive oil
► A secret for preserving the flavor of dried rose petals
► A to-die-for floral threesome (whether you infuse them into food or just breathe in their scents on a warm morning)
► Three tips for working safely with flowers in food
    ► and so much more…
For those of you who don’t already know her, Liz Knight is a teacher and author from the borders of England and Wales. As a child, she loved gardening and cooking and when she bought a second hand wildflower ID book, complete with hand written notes courtesy of its previous owner about how to eat the plants, her life was sent on a different, more delicious path. In 2021, after 10 years of teaching foraging and running an acclaimed wild food business, her first book about edible wild plants, Forage, was published to global acclaim, selling out in weeks.
If you’d like to hear more from Liz, which I highly recommend, then head to the show notes where you can get easy links for her website and social media channels. 3 Herbs for Resilience with Rebecca Altman

3 Herbs for Resilience with Rebecca Altman

    Today is a special episode!
That’s partly because I’m with my bestie, Rebecca Altman. But also because we’re talking about something near and dear to both of our hearts: simple and practical ways to build resilience.
Because life’s too short and too precious to be trapped in a dread of Monday mornings, right? “Monday mornings” might not ever go away, but your experience of them can change.
►►► That’s why we’re excited to share a week-long herbal resilience adventure that’s all about fun, ease, and spaciousness! (If you’re already busy or overwhelmed, the last thing you need is anything that feels heavy or takes too much time, right?) This free class is live from April 4th - April 10th.
Join us for the Building Resilience Mini Course here: www.herbalminiadventure.com
To us, resilience isn’t about productivity hacks to keep stuffing more and more into a draining existence. It’s really about being like a willow that’s grounded and rooted, yet able to sway with the wind. It’s the ability to maintain joy and ease amidst life's challenges.
In this episode, we share three herbs that can help you be more resilient when life sends storm winds your way.
Rebecca also shares her Soft & Cozy Tea recipe, which you can download (along with an entire tea recipe ebook) in the Building Resilience Mini Course.
By the end of this episode, you’ll know:
► What really needs to be transformed to build resilience
► Why herbs alone aren’t enough (though they certainly help!)
► The first-time-on-the-show herb that can offer profound support when you’re feeling life's heat a bit too keenly
► An herbal ally that can gradually and gently bring peace to frazzled nerves
► An herb with a remarkable ability to restore balance, from improving sleep cycles to softening stress responses
► Why gentle action can be the most powerful
    ► and so much more…
For those of you who don’t already know Rebecca, she loves connecting people: to the earth, to plants, to each other, and to themselves. Big fan

I feel like the way Rosalee explain thing and put information in ways that is easy to digest. I was a fan after the herb kit course I got and also Wild Remedies. I am looking forward to the path of this podcast. I love it so far!!

Update: 10/2/23

Just finished the hops episode. I love learning with Rosalee! One thing I learned before listening to this episode is that hops are an aphrodisiac for women and anaphrodisiac for men. I wonder if that is because of the estrogenic effects.

areyoukiddingmee ,

Disappointed. Lacking important info

Im new to herbalism and looking for an educational podcast, and was excited to try this one. Unfortunately, this does not provide the information I anticipated it would. I listened to the pod on lemon balm and mugwort, and neither podcasts discussed general uses, mechanism of action, chemical compounds, and history. This is basic Information that wasn’t included at all. I learned nothing useful. Most of the pod seems to be a biography of the herbalist rather than explaining the herb itself. That’s fine, but don’t pretend to be an informational podcast… I will be looking elsewhere for herbalism education!

Elorah Reslock ,

Thank you!

Your episode all about how to learn herbs was so helpful I deeply appreciate hearing trustworthy information about herbal schooling and the branches of herbalism!
