018 with Sovereign Authors Rebecca Floris, Courtney Hobbs, and Lise Musso

Another incredible conversation with three of the Authors in the Sovereign Collaborative Book that is now available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BH13XBXM In this episode, each author shares a little bit of the story they wrote in the book, and what the term Sovereign truly means to them.

    Rebecca Floris

    Courtney Hobbs

    Lise Musso

Rebecca began writing stories when she was nine years old and has always aspired to write and publish books. She achieved a print journalism diploma before embarking upon her career path as a nurse, where she graduated with outstanding academic achievement in 2013. She has held many different jobs in Canada and New Zealand and acquired many different certifications but none of which have brought her as much joy as reading and writing have done. Her many hobbies include singing, playing piano, hiking, camping, kayaking, cooking and kittens. She is currently spending her summers by the Ottawa River, surrounded by the magic of whitewater, and she continues to pursue adventure at every opportunity.

Courtney is a mom first and all the other things second. She is a former teacher who loved the students but not the system so found herself on a different path than she was taught to want. She is now an entrepreneur who is creating the life she wants. Courtney has been telling stories forever, loves moving her body and lives for quality time with her family. In her spare time you can expect to find her connecting with people, baking muffins or organizing her home.

Lise is a survivor, a mother, a wife and a friend. She’s been through a lot and fought like hell to be where she is today. She loves cooking and taking care of people. These past couple of years have taught her that living with integrity is the most important lesson she can teach her son. No matter the cost of family, friends, or employment… Living with integrity means she can live with herself and in the end that is all that matters. Be kind and be loving… the world really needs it right now.

Holly Schefold is the owner and founder of Nourish Cooking Co, an online membership that enables children (and their parents) to become independent and self-reliant in the kitchen through plant based cooking classes. Holly has always been a self driven, entrepreneur at heart. As an AMI trained Montessorian, Holly worked with children for over 20 years both in the classroom and in the kitchen before she pivoted to start her own business due to vaccine mandates. Nourish Cooking Co. was born. Holly is passionate about educating children on how empowering it is to make their own foods from scratch. Holly completed her Precision Nutrition certification and went on to earn her Plant Based Nutrition certification from the T.Colin Campbell Institute. She’s appeared on a few local podcasts and in magazines. When not in the kitchen, Holly enjoys spending her time with her three children and husband at their cottage near Algonquin Park.

Rosanna is a proud mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt & community volunteer. She considers herself a conservative woman living her life as a traditional wife, homemaker and provider in a traditional marriage. Cooking barefoot is only one of her superpowers. She happily serves her family and often loves to brag about being CEO of her home more than any other title given to her in her past corporate life. She believes there is no more important role in society than motherhood. Her three children, Lucas, Martina, and Julian, and husband, Mario, are the fuel to her fire in this world. Cut from a different cloth, Rosanna’s grit, determination, integrity, and passion for what’s right and true makes her refreshingly real in such a curated world. A fierce protector, Rosanna is courageous enough to be viewed as unpopular as she advocates for who and what is nearest and dearest to her heart. Rosanna gives back to her community generously with her time by bringing people together, helping the less fortunate, and stimulating the human spirit. The fortitude of her gut instinct has been her biggest blessing in life. It’s helped her become fearless and unstoppable. It freed her from the existential fears and worries of the present time.

Ashley is a Canadian mom, and wife navigating this ever-changing world and figuring out the best way to raise her two beautiful boys. Although fear almost took her life, with a lot of help, and even more personal work, she embarked on a journey to sovereignty. She left her overachieving, people-pleasing, perfectionist self behind. Now she is a woman, with an abundance of belief, who is letting life unfold for her and her family upon the values of love, curiosity and communication! Ashley has been teaching primary aged children for 12 years in a large public board in Ontario. Most of her career was spent teaching Kindergarten, ages 4-6. This is where her heart lies and her light shines. Ashley also has a degree in Psychology (University of Western Ontario) and a Masters degree in Teaching (OISE, University of Toronto). Right now, Ashley is adventuring around Canada in her family trailer, making the best memories after a challenging few years, while also scoping out where to set roots for her family. You will find her bike riding, writing, doing yoga, floating in the ocean or lake, and going on daily adventures with her family. Follow Ashley on instagram @IamAshleyCorreia for her honest reflection on raising a family in this current Canada and to see where the next chapter leads her sovereign family in this weird and wonderful world.

016 with Sovereign Authors Meaghan Penney, Chelsie Meyers, and Lindsey Stefan

016 with Sovereign Authors Meaghan Penney, Chelsie Meyers, and Lindsey Stefan

Today I am speaking with 3 of the authors in the New Collaborative Book - Sovereign, that is now available to order on Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BH13XBXM In this episode, each author shares a little bit of the story they wrote in the book, and what the term Sovereign truly means to them. Meaghan Penney is a mom, wife, entrepreneur and proud member of the “Fringe Minority” here in Canada. She built a 5 figure business in 6 months, while pregnant, after she was deemed “non-essential” in 2020. She faces every hurdle in her life head on and with the idea that everything is happening for us not to us. She has worked hard these past two years to detach herself & her family from the system all while still building the life she has always dreamed of. When Meaghan is not glued to her office chair supporting incredible business owners build their legacies, you can find her soaking up every sweet moment with her family, watching true crime documentaries, baking bread, and sitting in her vegetable garden. Chelsie Meyers is a recovering perfectionist who is releasing herself from societal expectations and stepping into her authenticity. With a strong sense of curiosity and justice, she has spent hours researching everything from natural healing and holistic health to geopolitics and government corruption. Chelsie went from burning out in the educational system as a teacher, to tackling it head-on as a parent a decade later. Parents are key stakeholders in public education, and she is on a mission to restore that role. Chelsie’s ultimate goal is to live in alignment with her best self, trusting her intuition, opening her heart, and flowing in a state of simplicity and ease. As a lifelong learner, she continues to pursue her passions, expand her mind, and discover her life’s purpose. She lives in a small Alberta town with her supportive husband Kerry, their two amazing children, Ben and Lia, and their dog, Stella. Lindsey currently lives in Calgary, AB, with her husband, her one-year-old son, and her two fur kids – a tabby cat named Lulu and a Jack Rusell Terrier, Jovie. When she isn’t busy being a mom and a wife, she enjoys doing dog sports with Jovie, going for walks with her family, being in the kitchen baking delicious treats, and dreaming of her future homestead life. Friends describe her as determined, caring, strong-willed, and ambitious; someone who can be counted on in times of need. She is always working on some new, completely outrageous goal or project.
