Reaction to the Padres series loss vs. the Yankees at Petco Park. It was a Home Run Derby in game one with Yu Darvish on the mound, as Soto, Judge and Stanton all homered off of him and none of them were cheapies. The offense continued to struggle against lefties and the big duo of Tatis and Machado aren't providing enough power right now compared to other notable duos. Dylan Cease and Joe Musgrove pitched the two weekend games and San Diego was able to avoid the sweep.

Reaction to the Padres series win in Cincinnati vs. the Reds. Sure, they were playing their third game in almost 24 hours but the offense simply needed to be better in game one to support Joe Musgrove and the bullpen. Nick Martinez faced his former team in game two and Matt Waldron pitched in the series finale. Xander Bogaerts was placed on the IL and it seems like he'll be out for the next couple months. Jake Cronenworth played his first game at 2B in 2024. Is that the best spot to put him while Bogey is out?
