Common Sense with Dan Carlin is an independent look at politics and current events from popular New Media personality Dan Carlin.
Carlin's self-described "Martian" viewpoints infuse each episode with a political alien's take on the world around us and the problems it faces. It's a smart, unique (and admittedly U.S.-centric) program that doesn't dumb down the information or analysis for the slowest person in the room.
Carlin's rapid-fire staccato voice has been compared to William Shatner after too many espressos. That, plus his penchant for making everyone in the audience mad at him eventually, makes for a witch's brew of a podcast that is not for everyone. But for those craving a deeper intellectual analysis, a less partisan approach and unpredictable outside-the-box revelations, Common Sense with Dan Carlin is a feast for the mind.

Customer Reviews
Dan Carlin, A fundamentally decent person
Having listened to CS going back to the early Obama period, I feel like my positions evolved in parallel with Dan’s for many years but now the current geopolitical landscape has caused me to seriously question my own previously held views. Regardless of what positions Dan would now hold, the fundamental decency of him is that he changes his mind when the facts change, and for that he has been a wonderful influence for me. I miss his commentary and I hope he returns to CS eventually.
Ironic Title
The title Common Sense is funny because Dan Carlin literally has none. Despite his deep knowledge of history, his perspectives are just the run of the mill Leftist Dogma. It’s a reminder that he is first and foremost just another elitist journalist.
Dan’s insight and explanations would be more valuable now than ever
While I get that politics has become a new level of contentious, one more well spoken voice of reason could only help during these politically absurd times. Please consider doing more of these!
