Hear Me Out makes my actor’s heart sing!

Prior to motherhood, I spent the better part of 25 years in the theatre community, whether it was onstage, on the crew, or as an administrator, I’ve lived and breathed theatre for as long as I can remember. I’ve listened to lots of actors talking about craft and sharing funny anecdotes, but no other podcast has come closer to capturing the pure joy that we all share in this crazy industry. It reminds me of sitting in rooms with performers who have blown my mind on stage and then, later, over a game of Apples to Apples, revealing themselves to be beautifully human. Lucy Eaton’s enthusiasm for and vast knowledge of a massive canon of both classic and contemporary plays makes these some of the most fascinating interviews with incredible insights and her ease and familiarity with her guests brings us into that cozy space right along with her. In the years since I’ve been onstage, a constant carving out of the gut that circumstances has wrought, I’ve sought out ways to plug back in . . . to vicariously experience that thrill and to soak in the depth of those emotions. No matter who the guest is, this podcast hits that sweet spot. I hope you continue season after season!

Awesome podcast for theatre nerds!!!!

Hi guys,

So, if you are a theatre nerd like I am, you’ll love this podcast, since it dives deeper into what plays they choose the monologue from, as well as delightful anecdotes from the stage. The host is a delight to listen to, as are the guests, who are also very funny.

It’s hard to choose a favorite, but my favorite episode is the Freddie Fox one, mainly because of the Glengarry Glenn Ross audition anecdote he talks about, mainly due to the absurdity of the scene that he describes. The Fella also seems very laid back and funny.

People, I highly reccomend this podcast for all you theatre lovers out there. Enjoy!
