Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 1: A Prologue

Welcome to Vioseveria and the 12 Sided Guys’ second full campaign. Rain falls like torrents in the darkness. Our new band of (surprisingly short) heroes find themselves in Oak Road, a village battered by a seemingly interminable rainstorm. Their goal is the crypt on the hill, but when an unexpected event postpones their plans, the party must decide if it is an opportunity they can’t pass up or a risk they’re unwilling to take.

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 2: The Dreamers

Awoken from a shared nightmare of a storm and a crypt and a child, four strangers find themselves drawn together with shared purpose. These strangers—a doctor, a flautist, a barkeep, and a paramour—find themselves outside the safety of civilization in search of a delayed caravan.

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 3: Watchers in the Woods

Night falls in the forest—a place none dare traverse alone—as the caravan begins an uneasy and unplanned stop for the night. Mawgrim, Cilvy, Ornan, and Guy provide aid to the beleaguered travelers as they try to unravel the reasoning for young Master Silvercrest’s unexpected return home.

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 4: Tragedy & Opportunity

Our heroes must make hard decisions about their next steps in the immediate aftermath of the night time assault. Success could mean offers of attractive employment should our heroes survive the night. Also, Cilvy learns a useful acronym, Mawgrim tends to a booboo, Ornan remains cheerful despite tragedy, and Guy gets upstaged by a loaf of bread.

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 5: The Promise of Coin

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 5: The Promise of Coin

The promise of coin and the chance to see Grimly Castle for themselves are enough to convince our heroes to accompany the tax collector Tobias to the home of Sir Roland. As our heroes learn more about each other they have even more questions about what is brewing below the surface of Barograd and the purpose of the Lamplighters’ mission there.

Chorus of the Forsaken - Ep. 6: Defiant

Weapons are drawn as diplomacy fails; if our heroes are to earn their pay they must keep Tobias alive against the full might of Grimly Castle. Unable to afford discretion, Guy has already openly used his magical abilities. Will his colleagues follow suit? And what exactly is Sir Roland so close to achieving that he would defy the envoy of Baron Thorne?

Great podcast

This podcast is exciting and thrilling I have listened to the first twelve episodes in the first week. It teaches you about d&d and it’s just fun to listen to. A family member suggested this to me and I’ve been hooked since the first episode. For anyone who plays D&D you would probably like this podcast. I like how the players combine their skills and magic and knowledge to win in fight and battle scenes and to try to help some new found friends take out the empire. The characters are really fun - the podcasters do a great job with them.

My new Go-To Actual Play Podcast

I was introduced to this podcast a little over a week ago and have already listened to all 10 episodes of chorus of the forsaken (as many as are currently out as of this review). I love 12 Sided Guys for a few reasons:
1. The shorter episodes that I can listen to without feeling like I’m missing out on visuals are much more accessible in my busy schedule than popular Actual Plays like Critical Roll and Dimension 20 that put a lot of effort into their videos and typically have long episodes
2. The worldbuilding is out of this world in terms of complexity and attention to detail
3. The balance of story and combat is great, and I am always very excited to start the next episode due to an intriguing premise

Although I’m late to the game, I’m thinking about starting Crystal Codex from the beginning (100+ episodes long) because of how much I’m enjoying this style of DnD podcast

Great storytelling, hilarious DM and players,

I employed this podcast to animate me while installing inanimate laminate flooring in my house. I was pleasantly surprised at how motivated I was after each episode to continue listening and continue with my flooring adventure. The experience made me feel nostalgic for the games I played as a kid. This is a smart, contemplative and most importantly, hilarious group of friends that helped make my project a breeze! Thank you 12 sided guys!
