Episode 148 Maxine's Personal Trip to Antarctica on Seabourn Venture

Episode 148 Maxine's Personal Trip to Antarctica on Seabourn Venture

We are talking about Maxine's recent cruise to Antarctica on Seabourn Venture.

    .
Welcome to this week's Cruise Chat!

    .
I loved meeting with Maxine and learning more about the Seabourn expedition experience.
    .
    Why Choose Seabourn?
Seabourn is a luxury small-ship company with five luxury ships and two luxury expedition ships travelling to remote destinations.

Their vessels have a capacity of 458 to 604 guests, and the expedition ships have 264 guests. You will have the intimacy of a small ship experience combined with luxury and amenities.
    .
This ship has a beautiful infinity pool, and it would be fabulous to soak in the warm water as you sail past glaciers and ice peaks. There is something magical about that!
    .
One of the expedition ships goes to the Arctic, and one goes to the South Pacific & Australia and the Antarctic, while the other heads to the Amazon. So they can be in the med, and they can be in Brazil and the Caribbean. The infinity pools are very multi-purpose!
In the lower hemisphere, you can sail from November until March, as it is their summer, with more extended daylight and pleasant temperatures.
    .
In this week's episode, we talked about Maxine's experience with Antarctica.
She talked about being out on the deck and celebrating with the included champagne as you toast to seeing land.
    .
Seabourn has 100% veranda outside suites. The suites start at 350 square feet and have a walk-in closet, a large bathroom with marble, a soaker tub, and a shower with double sinks.
    .
    They are luxury!
    .
Sitting on the deck, you can snuggle under a blanket provided while enjoying your views of Antarctica.
    .
Getting from Ship to shore is easy and efficient with Zodiacs—heavy-duty inflatable sides. You will make a wet landing and step into the water with the provided boots to keep you dry.
Your welcoming party will be Penguins! Now that's a great welcome!
    .
You will also be provided with Helly Hansen Parkas - which is yours to keep.
    .
You can hike from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. - it's self-guided. You don't see everyone else in the photos because you are divided into groups and take turns disembarking from the ship. Everyone goes at their own pace.
You are asked not to get too close to the wildlife, but they come close to you!
    .
When you return to the ship, all your clothing and boots will be stored in the mud room, where everyone has a locker. The Mud Room is attached to the Landing Zone.
    .
Seabourn Venture and its expedition ships are open to people of all ages. On Maxine's voyage, there was a six-year-old and an 86-year-old. Six is the youngest age allowed on Seabourn's Expedition ships.
    .
One of the best activities I and many others would want to do is the polar plunge! You jump off the side of the Ship. Once you come back onboard, you can sit in the hot tub or head to the sauna. I would like this because it is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and you can warm up fast!
    .
This is perfect for single cruises because you will always share experiences with others while cruising alone. It is a social atmosphere because it's small and intimate, and you make lifelong friends through shared experiences.
    .
Please reach out to me to book your cruise! I want you to be on board. You will be forever changed by this experience, just as Maxine was.

Episode 147 Luxury River Cruising in the Peruvian Amazon: A Guide to Aqua Expeditions

Episode 147 Luxury River Cruising in the Peruvian Amazon: A Guide to Aqua Expeditions

Welcome to this week's Cruise Chat!

This episode explores the Aqua Nera and Aria Amazon On Aqua Expeditions.
    .
If you find value in this video and wish to help this channel, you can donate using this link: https://bit.ly/KathleenPenner.
    .

    .
I loved meeting with Monika and learning more about Aqua Expeditions.
    .
    Why Aqua Expeditions?
Aqua expeditions are luxury small-ship expeditions in remote destinations. They have State-of-the-art designed vessels.
The service on Aqua Expeditions offers personalized luxury travel experiences with a 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio.
    .
Aqua Expeditions travels to the Peruvian Amazon and the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve. All the suites maximize your views with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors in.
    .
You can upgrade to having two connecting suites, which is only an additional 25% of the cost. - Double the space and not double the price sounds great to me! You can bring your family and have lots of room to stretch out! You can bring the family or use the second suite as your living room. The choice is yours.
    .
Aria Amazon High Water Itinerary is:
Iquitos City is where you will start and end your cruise.
With stops at Acu Yacapana, Nauta Town, Casuala, Dauta Caro, Yanayacu Pucate, Giavero Lake, Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. So many unplanned stops, you can enjoy the spontaneity of this expedition cruise.
    .
The high-water season is from November to May, and the low-water season is from April to October.
    .
The Low Water Season Itinerary starts in Nauta Town and traverses the Tahuayo and Maranon Rivers. You will also visit Puerto Prado and Yanayacu Pucate and continue cruising on the Oucayali River, Tapara River, and Cavero Lake. You will also visit the Pacaya Samaria National Reserve and have outstanding experiences in both itineraries.
    .
Both seasons will still give you great wildlife viewing, and you will still visit the rainforest. You will fly to a city called Aitos. It's about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Lima.
    .
The Aqua Nera has a more upscale design and departs on different days of the week than the Aqua Aria, but the itineraries are the same.
    .
Departure Dates: Aria Amazon (Monday and Friday) and Aqua Nera (Tuesday and Saturday.

She also has three Decks, a top viewing deck and two passenger decks. Aqua Nero has many dark wood tones. Nera means Black in Italian; keeping with its namesake, much of the color scheme is black.
    .
Inside the bathroom, handmade inlay Portuguese-painted tile is present. Many details tie in the Peruvian area's history and culture. The lounge and bar areas have bamboo seating, using the materials surrounding the Peruvian rainforest.
    .
Beer and wine are included on the Aqua Nera throughout your voyage. The ship also has a screening room (movie room) and a balanced pool table, a great addition. So you can have fun and unwind at the end of your day of exploration.
    .
My favourite feature of the Aqua Nera is the Infinity pool! Seeing the rainforest as you soak in an infinity pool would be outstanding!
    .
You can go Kayaking down the Amazon with Aqua Expeditions. You can also go fishing for piranhas. What a great experience!

    .
Aqua Expeditions also offers birdwatching and helps you take the best photos. You can also borrow one of Aqua's bikes and explore the town.
    .
If you want to learn more about Aqua Expeditions or any other cruise lines I have met with, please get in touch with me at info@PlentyofSunshineTravel.com.

Episode 146 Discover Ultimate Freedom: Solo Cruising Across The ENTIRE Norwegian Cruise Line Fleet

    Welcome to this week's episode.
This episode explores the Solo Cabins on Norwegian Cruise Lines ships.
    .

    .
    Video Requests: info@PlentyofSunshineTravel.com.
    .
I love meeting with Cindy and learning more about NCL's Solo Cabins. Sadly, this is the last time I will meet with her, as she is returning to France to be with her family.
    .
Click HERE for the YouTube playlist where I met Cindy and chatted about Norwegian Cruise Line.
    .
You don't want to miss the opportunity to sail with Norwegian as a solo traveller!

    NCL has the perfect solution!

    Solo cabins!
Travel solo and sail with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).

They have added more Solo Staterooms to their fleet, including Solo Balcony, Oceanview, Inside, and Studios.
You'll save big because traditional double occupancy rates don't apply to solo rooms.
    .
    Solo Cruising Fun
Norwegian Cruise Line offers meet-ups for solo travellers to socialize with other like-minded people. You can participate in pub crawls and happy hours, sip drinks by the pool, and enjoy onboard activities like the ropes course and climbing walls. Additionally, there are Broadway-style entertainment shows in the evenings and shore excursions to meet fellow cruisers.
    .
It doesn't matter if you're travelling solo by choice, are the extra person in your group, or just because it's a better option for you and your friends.
Norwegian Cruise Line makes single cruising easy and enjoyable. Their award-winning Studio Staterooms are now available across Norwegian's full 19-ship fleet.
    .
Introducing Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview & Solo Balcony
For the first time, Norwegian is introducing three new solo stateroom categories, including Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, and Solo Balcony, for future sailings starting Jan. 2, 2024.
    .
With the capacity of solo stateroom categories expanding from 9 ships to the full 19-ship fleet, single cruisers now have more opportunities to visit bucket-list worthy destinations such as Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand on vessels which historically have not had this unique offering.
    .
    Norwegian's Studio Lounge
Solo travellers sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line get access to the Studio Lounge, a private area exclusively for Studio guests. Benefits include complimentary beer and wine, a big-screen TV, and the opportunity to connect with other solo travellers.
    .
    Best Cruises for Solo Travellers:

    Bahamas Cruises from Miami
Cruise to the Bahamas from Miami on Norwegian Sky.
Get ready for days full of sun, waves, and all the time to relax! Even if you don't enjoy time alone, experiencing a Bahamas cruise alone is luxurious.
    .
    Greek Island Cruises
Greece is a perfect destination for a cruise. The locals treat you like family, and the islands are full of relaxation and fun. You can eat delicious food, see a beautiful sunset over crystal-clear blue waters, and enjoy the warm welcome from other travellers.

    Mediterranean Cruises
For an adventurous vacation, take a 10-day cruise to the Greek Isles, Santorini, Mykonos & Croatia. Enjoy the best of the Mediterranean, epic dining, and culture. With stops in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, and Greece, you'll feel like living in a movie, sipping wine and tasting local delicacies while exploring the cities. This is the stuff of dreams!

Episode 144 Cruise into Paradise: Paul Gauguin's Special Itineraries To Book Now

Episode 144 Cruise into Paradise: Paul Gauguin's Special Itineraries To Book Now

    Welcome to this week's Episode!

    .

This episode explores the luxurious world of French Polynesia Cruises and Paul Gauguin.

    .

If you find value in this video and wish to help this channel, you can donate using this link: https://bit.ly/KathleenPenner.

    .

Video Requests: info@PlentyofSunshineTravel.com I loved meeting with Vicky and learning more about Paul Gauguin.

    .

Paul Gauguin has been in the French Polynesia Islands exclusively for 25 years! After exploring this area for 25 years, they have established relationships with the tour operators and gained the locals' respect!

    .
Paul Gauguin has one mid-sized ship. There is ample room to spread out and to have space of your own. They have one ship that is continually in the Pacific.

    .

With longer stays, you will be immersed in the areas you visit. This will give you more time to explore and learn about the culture, which is why I love to cruise. I want to see new cultures and explore new lands.

    .

How big are the suites on Paul Gauguin?

The Owner's suite is 534 to 588 Square feet.

The Grand Suite is 529 Square feet.

The Balcony Stateroom - Both Category C & D are 239 Square feet.

    .

Does Paul Gauguin have a kids program?

Yes, they do. It is called the Moana Explorer Program, and children from ages 6- 15 will explore the area and learn from locals what life is like in French Polynesia. The Moana Explorer programs run only in July & August and December.

    .
There is no better way to learn about an area than to visit and learn from people there. The kids will visit a turtle sanctuary and learn how they are trying to save the turtles.

In Bora Bora, Paul Gauguin has a stretch of Island—its own private area just for you. You can walk out into the ocean long before a drop-off. This is perfect for snorkelling and also great for kids.
    .

Some of the itineraries offered are:

    .

7 nights Tahiti & the Society Islands

Bora Bora, Taha'a (Motu Mahana), Huahine, Moorea and Papeete.

    .
I loved having the opportunity to meet with Patricia in person!
    .
Explora Journeys has one of the best guest services I have ever seen onboard a cruise ship. They are polite, helpful and always there when you need something. - if it's a drink, a meal, or a helping hand. They are there! I cannot wait to go back and experience this service again.
    .
Explora Journeys is a mid-sized ship with a small ship feel. There is ample room to spread out and to have space of your own.
    .
We had difficulty trying to choose our favourite restaurant.
Sakura is near the top of the list - it's Pan-Asian, and many of the items on the menu you may not make at home for yourself, so it's a nice treat to head out to that restaurant!

    .
There are many restaurants onboard. If you want to see all the restaurants and sample menus, check out this page on my website:
    https://www.plentyofsunshinetravel.com/explora-journeys-restaurants/
There is a restaurant for everyone, including gluten-free and vegan options.
    .
The Emporium has fresh foods made to order. It is called a Marketplace, not a buffet. The pasta is made every day, as is the bread. Delicious!
The Med Yacht Club is outstanding. - the appetizers are made to share with the table. When we went with Patrica, we ordered everything on the menu and shared it, which was neat!
The dessert ~ the semifreddo... WOW! We would go in just for that!
    .
In Fil Rouge, the specialty item is the soufflé, which changes frequently. Having it rise higher and higher above the dish is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds!
    .
Every venue has been fantastic. Only one restaurant has a charge (Anthology), which is well worth it!
    .
I love how many pools there are. I have been on ships that are larger and had fewer pools. I loved that there are many pool options.
You can get complementary milkshakes, which is nice returning from a hot port day.
    .
You will feel that you are at home or in a hotel, not on a cruise. It is amazing!
You will feel at home in the suites, which is why they are called residential suites. With 461 suites - all oceanfront and all have a terrace. There is one for you! They start at 377 square feet and only go up from there. Your host attendant is going to keep your suite spotless!
    .
I want to thank Patrica for including me on this cruise with her and for taking the time to sit down with me and chat about all things Explora Journeys!
