Thumbs down
Really disappointing to hear how these guys (mostly Rob) talk about the draft. Teams in markets like Memphis will always need to invest in player development. 1) it’s a way to potentially bring in talent on affordable, team controlled contracts. 2) with a good development staff and a plan to get the most out of young talent, you have the option to one day flip that talent for vets or keep them and have them contribute long term for the franchise. I hated how Chris Wallace and his coaches wasted draft picks year after year. Thankfully, we have a front office and coaching staff that believe in player development. The Lakers, Nuggets, Heat, Celtics, all had young contributors that they developed that had roles on playoff teams. Plus most depth rotations get shortened in the playoffs. There were games where Denver only played 6 or 7 guys. You guys have good chemistry but I hope that you become more informed on the team’s philosophy on team building and why it’s been successful for the Grizzlies. Player development takes time, but it’s most definitely a worthwhile investment.
Like Family!
I’ve watched these guys so much they really feel like family so I may be biased but they’re a great listen. Go Grizz
