Mike Archer is a newly appointed fire watcher in the Wyoming woods. While he's never done anything like this before, he needed something new after his mom passed. Now he hopes to spend his days in a tower above the trees looking for fires and working on his new book. But things aren't as quiet and peaceful as he hoped. Strange interference blasts over his radio at night and he starts seeing and hearing creepy noises in the woods. But are these odd occurrences actually happening or is he just going stir crazy?

Amber realizes Gene has been keeping things from her, and after finding her tower ransacked, she's had enough. She thinks back on past events to what eventually led her to this point. It doesn't take long before she's presented with a choice: Go back with Gene or go after Mike? Which will she choose?

S3E4: Past Apologies
Amber helps Mike search the caches, enjoying her time talking to him about all sorts of topics. It leads her to the idea of a meeting. Mike agrees, but when the time comes, he doesn't show up. Amber gets upset, especially when Mike abruptly tells her he wants to leave one drunken night. After some arguing with Gene, Amber finds out Mike has changed his mind. She's not sure what exactly is going on with Mike, but she continues to do the best she can with her job. The job Gene helped her get, which is why he's so adamant about her following the rules.

He works for the company, but won't say much else. Amber starts getting some weird feelings about what she's doing out here. And Gene suspects it might be because she's starting to develop some feelings for Mike...

S3E2: A Different Point of View
This is where Tower 4 may get a little divisive...
Amber's looking forward to meeting the new occupant of Tower 4. She's not sure what to expect after the last two years. Nevertheless, she turns on the charm. Her and Mike have some good chemistry, but she's still a little hesitant. Will this new guy suffer similar experiences to past occupants? Only time will tell.

Enjoying the podcast but please choose less political ads
I am enjoying the podcast. It is mysterious enough to keep my interest and the characters are intriguing. I know you need ads to pay the bills but please stop the political ads. I am appalled that a series about parks and the outdoors is sponsored by the American Petroleum Council advocating against EVs and for more gas powered cars. Seems a bit ironic. Also I do not wish to hear ads for a rich right-wing senatorial candidate. Please choose your sponsors more wisely. Thanks
I doubt anyone it’s going to see this
But despite how compelling the story is there is a lot that is left to be desired. For starters, thee seems to be a special announcement regarding release delays frequently despite the release regularity being an abysmal once a month. And with that we see that we are already nearly an entire three seasons through and there is still a lot that has not been developed.
A lot of this is due to the fact that when Amber became the narrator we had to spend multiple episodes rehashing stuff so you could sprinkle in the fact that she knows more than she wanted to admit. Could we not have consolidated this anymore or were you wanting to fill In space of season three with what felt like unnecessary back story. And what this lended to was a surmounting aggravation with Ambers back story. I just genuinely didn’t care to know. And it’s funny because Mike even said “because she’s not the main character” when referring to what went a charter would receive this exact treatment
As far what I’m willing to invest if my time it feels like we have it feels like we have another two season to go which translates to, what, another probably two years. No matter how compelling or original a story is, it’s hard to honestly think that I’m going to still care about this in another two years of a story broken up in to bread crumbs to stretch out over an overinflated time period It’s a great story, but I don’t really feel like twiddling my thumbs
