    Houston SaberCats’ Davy Coetzer

On this replay of US Rugby Happy Hour LIVE, Bill & John welcomed Houston SaberCats Flyhalf, Davy Coetzer, to catch up on Houston’s season, one of only two teams remaining in MLR undefeated, albeit early in the season. Also, we talk about his Houston teammates, and what are Davy’s international plans? Does he have USA Eagles’ plans once qualified?

Bill also teases an upcoming interview with the directors of the film, Uproar, which was just released in limited theaters in North America this week. Paul Middleditch and Hamish Bennett talk about working with stars, Minnie Driver, Rhys Darby and Julian Dennison on this film based on actual events in 1981 when South Africa Springboks toured New Zealand during Apartheid and how a 17 year-old student, played by Julien, is forced to get off the fence he has actively sat on all his life to stand up for himself, his Maori family and his future in this heartwarming story of identity.

Uproar, an interview by Bill Baker with Directors Hamish Bennett and Paul Middleditch

Uproar, an interview by Bill Baker with Directors Hamish Bennett and Paul Middleditch

In this bonus interview, Bill Baker sits down with the directors of the film, Uproar, starring Minnie Driver, Rhys Darby and Julian Dennison. Hamish Bennett and Paul Middleditch talk about the story behind the film and working with the incredible cast.
Uproar is set in New Zealand in 1981, when the arrival of the South African Springboks sets off nationwide protests against apartheid and racism. Josh Waaka, played by Julien Dennison, a 17-year-old of mixed race who has been a passive bystander all his life, is suddenly forced to stand up for himself, his whānau, or family, and his future.
Dennison's acting is superb, filled with humor and emotions.

Just Another Olde Boy ,

Very informative pod with great hosts!

I have been listening for the past few months as MLR wound down and the World Cup
picked up. Bill and Fitzy do a great job leading the conversation and knowing when to shut up and let the guest talk. There is no overt sucking up and no dropping personal anecdotes into the guest’s discussion. It’s all very (semi) professional sounding with good, solid conversations about current topics in rugby. An added bonus is the beer talk, but Fitzy has got to spread his wings a bit. I mean, you can pick up DC Brau at Safeway or Giant…
