Disappointed
It frustrates me how the LDS church is misrepresented on this podcast. I am very active LDS and when I heard these wacko preper theories prior to the murders I knew immediately it was contrary to what I had been taught. You take a fragmented part of church membership who are going off on their own tangent and act like it was a general belief across the worldwide church.
The Borderline Experience
This podcast has gifted me greater insight into my own experience with Borderline Personality Disorder. As someone who now considers themselves to be “in recovery” from BPD, I work as a “peer” at the state psych hospital. I work with an extremely vulnerable population, many of whom have been diagnosed with this disorder, but who have never considered, nor been treated as though, recovery is an option. It was incredibly heart warming to hear Dr John Matthias speak of his experience helping someone learn to regain control of their life; ie. recover from BPD. It made me realize how lucky I am to have overcome, and that I now have the privilege to share my story with those who are still suffering; that I get to be an example of what’s possible. It’s exceedingly rare to for the topic of recovery from BPD to be discussed, let alone offering proof that it can be done. Across the entire hospital, I have garnered respect for being the person who can get through to, and make progress with, this wildly misunderstood population.
I cite my insatiable quest for knowledge and understanding as the main reason I am who I am today, able to help others. The in-depth discussions about BPD in this podcast have given me a treasure trove of valuable insight which I then share with others. This podcast has allowed me to be more effective at inspiring those who otherwise feel helpless. I cannot thank John & Lauren enough for providing this transformative content in a concise, easily digestible format. You are positively impacting more lives than you can imagine.
