    The Acolyte (S01E01-02)

    The Acolyte (S01E01-02)

With a monster budget and an overwhelmingly negative trailer response, Star Wars fans were left bracing as the premiere of the first two episodes of The Acolyte dropped on June 4th on Disney+. The show takes place far back before any of the events of the Skywalker Saga and brings us new worlds, characters, costumes, and stories while retaining the same transition wipes and stoic Jediism we're used to. On this podcast, we discuss our impressions of the show mixed in with some interesting facts...

    Eric (PILOT)

Today we are discussing a new Netflix show which is set in the streets of 1980s New York, similar to Russian Doll, The Shrink Next Door and The Deuce. The story follows Vincent Sullivan, a troubled puppeteer searching for his missing son, Edgar. As Vincent grapples with his own demons and the chaos around him, he manifests an unexpected ally in Eric, a blue monster that can talk. Elsbeth (S01E10)

    Elsbeth (S01E10)

There is something ironic about a show releasing "A Fitting Finale" to conclude its first season after already being picked up by its network for another season. But "Elsbeth" is nothing if not a quirky program. A throwback to the howcatchem procedurals of the past, the show excels primarily due to the refreshing character dynamics between Elsbeth, Officer Kaya Blanke, and C.W. Wagner. In this podcast, we break down the finale, delving into the cheesy plot twists and character arcs. We also d...

Episode four, "The Corridor," is the longest and most intense installment yet. Welcome to Today's Episode!

    Bookie (Season 1)

    Bookie (Season 1)

Near the end of 2023, Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay teamed up to create a new series centered around comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The LA-based comedy about a bookie with strange clients ran eight episodes and has already been renewed for season 2, but just how good is the show? Tune in to hear our thoughts on what worked and what didn't, how the show came about, if it makes you want to gamble, and what our rating is. Welcome to Today's Episode!

    The Veil (S01E01-03)

If you're waiting on the next season of The Handmaid's Tale or the movie spin-off of Peaky Blinders, this will have to do as Steven Knight and Elisabeth Moss team up in this espionage thriller about an MI6 agent who gets close to an alleged ISIS commander in the hopes of preventing an attack in the US. Now, in the first three episodes that have been released, the show has its ups and downs, which we cover and rate in this episode. But if you come away with one thing, it’s that if you choose t...

This is a mess. Listened to the Barkskins review and only one of the hosts watched an episode because they switch back and forth?? And he only watched the second episode because “they only watch the most recent episode” (even though ep. 1 & 2 were released together) so he had no idea what the show was really about. The other host, who hadn’t even watched the show, had to explain it to him. And then he painstakingly pulled information out of him while he repeated variations of “I don’t know” the rest of the time. This was a kindergarten-esque recap and no real discussion of the content. Poor production quality and unprepared hosts.
