When you become a mom, you expect your life to change, but too little discussed are the changes that happen within you after having a baby. Getting to know yourself as a mother is a long, nonlinear journey that can simultaneously be the happiest you've ever been and the loneliest you've ever felt - but you don't have to do it alone.

I'm Melissa Wirt, mother-of-six, certified lactation consultant, and CEO & Founder of Latched Mama. Join me as I attempt to bring community back to motherhood through shared experiences, vulnerability, advice, and humor. With the help of expert guests, members of the Latched Mama community, and more often than not, my bff Lindi, we'll explore how support for one another can help us reach our best version of motherhood, whatever that looks like for you.

One of the best!

I’ve listened to Melissa and Lindi from the beginning of this podcast! I’ve learned a many great tidbits of mom-knowledge from this podcast and I love keeping up on the LM world even though I’m past my nursing days. They are a bright spot of encouragement, especially as a mom going back to work full time.

Keep it up!

Dirty talk

Hi- I enjoyed listening to you after finding the podcast from the latched mama website. This last episode was terrible though. Swearing and taking dirty really turned me off. If you want to talk like that, have your ratings reflect that. Good thing my kids weren’t able to hear. I’m sorry I will never promote your podcast.

Not worth the listen

Melissa and Lindi are both moms, sure, but they aren’t experts in anything. If they actually brought in professionals to discuss motherhood/nursing/child behaviors/etc it may then be worth a listen. The few times a professional has been brought on…they seem to talk over them and don’t ask questions that moms really want answers to. It’s turned into a podcast where they get to sit and record themselves just chatting…instead of being moms which they claim to be experts in. Melissa has nannies, chefs, homeschool teachers, and things typical families don’t get the luxury of having. Most moms listening can’t relate to anything about her lifestyle. I prefer the moms who are down to earth and truly build their village instead of paying people to be her village/friend.
