In this special episode of College Golf Talk, Brentley Romine catches up with Texas head coach John Fields, who first talks about how his Longhorns have responded to several new rules this spring (phone bans, more workouts, etc.) to win Big 12s and enter the NCAA Austin Regional with lots of momentum. They then pivot to some regional memories before shifting to the upcoming NCAA Championship at La Costa. Fields, who has been instrumental in getting the NCAAs to La Costa, breaks down the golf course and his big plans for a potential Omaha of college golf. Finally, Fields tells the story of when he first watched Scottie Scheffler hit a golf ball, plus the pivotal moment early in Scheffler's college career that helped mold him into the champion we see today. This one was a good one!

In what has become an annual tradition, Burko and Brentley welcome USC head coach Justin Silverstein on the pod to break down all six of the 2024 NCAA Division I women's golf regional fields. They talk his Trojans, but also dive into the favorites, potential sleepers and maybe even a few teams in upset alert.

In this week's episode, after a week away, Burko and Brentley return for a jam-packed episode. They touch on the big Gordon Sargent news, dive into some big men's tournament results, including No. 1 Auburn absolutely dominating at the Mossy Oak. Conference championships are here on the women's side, and the guys discuss a five-time winner now this season, Emma Bunch of New Mexico State. Then they close with the SEC, as Mississippi State's Julia Lopez Ramirez joins to talk about the Bulldogs' clean sweep.

In this extra credit episode of College Golf Talk, Brentley Romine sits down with Anna Davis, who is in the middle of her first semester at Auburn. Davis shares why she chose to play college golf and for the Tigers, and she shares what the experience has been like so far. There's also a deep dive into her game and background, and what makes her different. There is some fashion talk, though the bucket-hat chatter is kept to a minimum. Finally, they discuss the upcoming ANWA and what is really motivating Davis in her third appearance. It's Augusta National Women's Amateur week. Burko and Brentley get a head start on things with a preview of the prestigious women's tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Sorry, there are no college results discussed, but we do break down the favorites in a snake draft format. Brentley then sits down with Kiara Romero of Oregon to talk about her two-win freshman season so far, her ANWA expectations (spoiler alert: her game fits Augusta National very well) and much more.

Fresh off his impressive victory at the Valspar Collegiate, Florida State sophomore Luke Clanton hops on the pod to discuss beating one of the best fields in college golf, his humble beginnings in the game growing up in South Florida, how much not making the Walker Cup has motivated him and what it's like flying on Brooks Koepka's private jet and getting advice from the five-time major champion. Burko and Brentley also break down a wild finish at the Floridian as Vandy made a ferocious charge only to be negated by a sloppy finish. Ingrid Lindblad's 10-shot win at Clemson is also discusses, as well as several other results from the week.
