    FAITH FORWARD | "Keep Awake!"

    FAITH FORWARD | "Keep Awake!"

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus calls men and women to follow him. This discipleship in which he calls them to, does not take place in a traditional classroom or student-teacher setting. This discipelship takes place in the "everyday" aspects of life: walking along the road, attending celebrations, and having conversations in the local water hole. We are called to the same life of faith...one that is ACTIVE. During this next season of our church, we desire to shift our discipleship into an active, purposeful endeavor.
The wait is long for Christ’s return, but we must remain diligent in our waiting. Being a disciple of Christ requires a long view.
    Passage: Matthew 24:36-51

Standing in the way of God’s work in our world is a continual problem we have as disciples. Acknowledging our doubt can be transformational.

In a world where Christian culture is a norm, what does it mean for Christ’s disciples to transform instead of perpetuate problems. Pastor Karla Shaw examines common, yet misguided metaphors for the body of Christ, and explores what it really means to be a body.

As we celebrate this Easter Sunday, we remeber to a time previous the resurrection - the Transfiguration. Prior to Christ’s death and resurrection, he gave his disciples an inside peek into his glory so they might believe. How is God still giving us glimpses into His power?

On this Palm Sunday celebration, it is easy to feel good about our discipleship when things are going well, but God also has something to teach us through our failure.
