Great chemistry, terrible audio
I love this podcast and it pains me to give them less than 5 stars. The hosts are so fun to listen to and have great chemistry and humor. The stories are well researched and captivating. HOWEVER, the audio, especially the most current episode, makes listening almost impossible. Sam is so loud and John is so quiet. If I turn it up to hear John, Sam is intolerably loud. If I turn it down so Sam is at a reasonable level, I can hardly hear John at all. Please fix the audio, please! I so badly want to keep listening, but I can’t if the audio continues as it is
Recommended for Fans of Red Handed!
As a longtime listener to great pod casts like Red Handed, I never would have thought I needed another true cults. podcast. But after stumbling onto “Coffee and Cults”, I now know I did! Sam and John offer the thoroughness and deep research, as well as the feeling of community I feel listening to favorites like the prosecutors, Redhanded, Morbid, and Last Podcast On The Left.
Rambling
This has the potential to be a great podcast, but the ramblings and distractions are too much. There have been times that it takes them 8 to 10 minutes to even get started and once they get the ball rolling they can’t seam to help themselves with puns and inside jokes. Many of these four part series could have easily been a two or three part series if they would remove a lot of the witty banter. If you are looking for a lighthearted, long commentary about cults, this will probably be right up your alley. If you’re looking for something a bit more serious and focused, look elsewhere.
