Dr. Salas-Whelan went to Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico, following which she completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center as part of Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, was a Research fellow in Obesity Surgery at John Hopkins University, and another Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at University of Maryland. Dr. Salas-Whelan’s practice has a particular emphasis on obesity, diabetes, and thyroid disorders and aims to change the narrative of obesity.

Through her experience with invasive and non-invasive procedures, she founded FaceGym, a facial workout utilizing different massaging techniques and traditional Chinese healing and wellness methods to alleviate pain, improve blood circulation, and release toxins.
