Disappointed
TL;DR Leaving the community because the podcast hosts have willfully remained silent about the George Floyd protests and do not unequivocally state that black lives matter. Your silence is heard.
I leave this community in deep disappointed that the Friends refuse to say or post anything specific about the death of George Floyd and the aftermath on their podcast or their pages. Unfortunately, there is a fear of alienating certain listeners. However, this podcast places the host in a position of leadership, high visibility, and trust in the spiritual community. With this position comes responsibility. During the May-June George Floyd protests, the host resignedly advocate meditating for peace only. While this is a good place to start, it is not enough.
The result of focusing generally on "peace" as opposed to "truth" and "justice" makes it sound like these events should be over as soon as possible, as opposed to resolved fairly and lead to healing for our nation from racism. Perhaps that is the intent.
As white people, it is our responsibility to take a stand against oppression and hate against people of color. Neutrality only benefits the oppressor. Surely it is clear that there is no excuse for state-sanctioned racism or state-sanctioned violence. Shame on those who aren't using their privileged platforms to speak out against it - and that includes the so-called spiritual community.
