Episode 331: Prison Labor Issue Part of Larger Southern Strategy To Organize Industry

With a new union focused on organizing QSR’s in the South, and pro-union think tanks disparaging the “Southern Economic Model”, the escalation of the southern prison labor issue is not happening in a vacuum. How should the industry view what is happening down South and more importantly, how to prepare for it.
And the landmark Cemex decision has barreled headfirst into the restaurant industry with a New York landmark restaurant facing the possibility of being the first in the industry ordered to recognize a union without an election. We will dive into that.

Episode 330: How Did The Industry End Up In The Middle Of It All?

Minneapolis has successfully engineered a labor standards board for nursing home workers that will set benefit and wage levels for that sector. So far advocates have considered it a big success building momentum for the concept. Any guesses as to which industry is next on their agenda? You guessed it. We’ll discuss what’s coming down the pike for the restaurant industry.

You must listen to this podcast if you are in the restaurant business. It's packed with “must-know” information about the latest laws, rules, and regulations that may be arriving at your restaurant very soon. Enjoy.

Great content for food industry

A very informative show on current topics for the restaurant/food industry discussing new and upcoming laws and how they might effect our businesses.
They strike a perfect balance on light hearted banter and the dry information of government regulations. Keep up they great work.

However, my only hope is that they work on the sound. I have to listen to show with my hand on the volume. Some speakers come in loud and clear while others are much quieter requiring me to turn up the volume to understand what they are saying.

After 48 years and employing thousands of minimum wage workers I’ve never been so insulted as compared to listening to this haughty voice doing this podcast.
Don’t believe your lying eyes or your everyday experiences running 4 restaurants where you are constantly shorthanded, you spend thousands advertising for help, only to have applicants show up, interview (or work one shift) and then disappear to satisfy unemployment.
When I heard Neanderthal grunting, moronic, intellectually dishonest, clueless thinking I wanted to so badly to debate and share my experiences. Pretty clear your minds were made up.
Shame on you for thinking you speak to our industry.
