We Live Here Now

Um just was taking a side since I just heard episode 3 & now since Inauguration Day and other events I think maybe yall should revise who was right🤣

Listening gave me a deeper understanding of why some people are so devoted to MAGA, but it also left me with a chilling sense of fear. The podcast captures the immovable resistance some hold against any change to their vision of America—a “toothpaste out of the tube” feeling that’s both unsettling and deeply concerning. This isn’t just a recount of that day; it’s an exploration of the divides shaping our country and the fragility of shared reality. It’s essential listening for anyone grappling with what January 6th means for America’s future.

It’s wild to hear just how deluded a subset of the United States populace is. These folks are the Big Lie and digested it. They see the J6 terrorists like heroes. This insurrectionist population is a danger to our future. Hearing from them directly does nothing to make me feel better about this danger.

The focus of “We live here now” voiding have been so interesting. But as a longtime historian, I was dismayed that except for Rosen’s commentary occasionally, there was an absence of noting just how egregious the January 6th insurrectionists actions and goals were. Never before had that occurred in American history. Mostly, though, I could barely get through the podcast because of Lauren Ober’s voice. No offense intended, just a very serious plea: Please do yourself and listeners a favor, get voice lessons.
