I love this podcast!
Having recently become a huge George Michael fan, I devour any content I can find about him! I was delighted to find this podcast in my feed, and am even more delighted as I listen week to week to Matt and his guests. And, of course, frequent co-host and fan idol Shirley Lewis!! It’s such a thrill to hear Shirley relay firsthand accounts of singing with George. What an amazing treat!! Please keep up the great work!! 🥰🥰🎶🎶🎶
Matt & Shirley you are a great podcast pair!!
Firstly, I’m so grateful for your initiative! Keep doing this!
I know the songs well, but sometimes I just wish to know more about what the lyrics mean. Would love to hear you analyze the lyrics Matt because you know so much!
Anyways, love to you guys!
Love when you guys are joking around, so funny!!! The Paula Abdul song hints LOL!!!
Great, fun podcast
Love hearing Shirley talk about GM. She clearly loves and misses him. Glad she didn’t attend the James Gavin episode. She likely would have been angry because she was actually there for a lot of it. Reading his book now. Very clear he didn’t do real research. Quotes magazine articles and interviews with GM. That’s not scholarly research. Events are in the wrong order - all you have to do is look at YouTube videos of George to see some of the incorrect stuff. A lot of the order of his career can be followed by his haircuts. For all his talk of not judging, doesn’t seem Gavin liked GM. I read a lot of autobiographies, biographies and memoirs. The only reason I’m trying to finish this is because I hate wasting my money. Shame on him and the publisher. And he wonders why those truly close to GM refused to talk to him. Andrew’s book is much better. Protective but seems honest and more informative unlike Gavin’s book which just focuses on GM’s sexuality. Hoping for more podcast seasons. I miss the surprise GM album. I cried when he died. He was a master. Stevie Wonder and other blacks like me know soul and beauty when we hear it. Can’t wait for his Rock Hall induction! Well deserved and overdue.
