AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: Episode Titles and Our Guesses, What is Going on with the Gravel and What if Paul Didn't Die

In this episode, the insiders are making guesses about what is going to happen in each episode, based on the newly released episode titles available on Rotten Tomatoes. We are also trying to figure out what is the deal with Louis in the gravel-filled coffin (??) and we speculate a bit on a theory: what if Paul never died?

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: The Jones Cut

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: The Jones Cut

The Vampire Insiders have finally returned, albeit with an empty host chair. On April 2, 2024 we lost Marc Snediker unexpectedly to a brief illness. We are heartbroken, and miss him very much, but know that he would want us to carry on with the podcast. So here we are.

In this episode, the remaining insiders are talking about Marc, what to expect for future episodes, and finally the thing that has Twitter on fire: The Jones Cut (also called the London Cut). If you have not seen it yet, please follow the link below and beware -- your mind will be blown.

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: Authorial Intent Part 2 with @Inkyblotposts

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: Authorial Intent Part 2 with @Inkyblotposts

The Vampire Insiders are speaking with IWTV fan @inkyblotposts (Twitter and Tumbler) aka Jo in the second part of our authorial intent episode. With her background in literature we thought a chat about authorial intent and how that plays out in the multiple levels of original text and adapted screenplay was in order, and we weren't disappointed. We have about 2 hours of material to share so this is the first of a two-part episode.

If you enjoy us and would like to learn more about us, please follow us on twitter @marceatspeach, @kristinagenx and @vampire_insider. We love interacting with listeners.

We're also bringing back fanfiction and today Jo will be reading one of her favorite fics, from author Poet to None, titled Black, Soft, Unearthly. It is outstanding and you can find the entire piece here:

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: Jacob Anderson in Entertainment Weekly

The Vampire Insiders are discussing an interview that Jacob Anderson gave to Entertainment Weekly (see link below). We thought it would be a good opportunity to talk a little about some of the crumbs of information that Jacob doles out in the conversation. We are nothing if not dedicated to analyzing any new kind of content we can locate.

    Find that interview here:

AMC's Immortal Universe Hiatus Content: Marketing and Fandom

The Vampire Insiders are discussing an interview that Kim Granito gave to a podcast called the Current (see link below). We thought it would be a good opportunity to talk a little about how AMC goes about marketing IPs with dedicated fandoms, and to dive into the subject of a new Immortal Universe property "Talamasca", how the Talamasca has already been portrayed in the witches, and where Night Island might fit into the whole picture.

Best VC podcast out there!

I love to listen in on what these guys have to say about every episode. All of their between-season episodes maintain that momentum and remain very entertaining and informative. They know their stuff, and like to dive deep into themes, Easter eggs, and the greater universe. The hosts each contribute a lot and usually each have their different takes which keep things interesting. Keep it up!

Updated review: Appreciated Changes to the Dynamic!

UPDATE: I had strong words in my previous review below and I would be remiss if I didn't voice appreciation for the tone change. All three hosts are provided equal acknowledgement and it more seamlessly comes across as an equal conversation and the result is a rich discussion, new episode after new episode._____PREVIOUS REVIEW: I adore the show and love the analysis laid out in this podcast. That said, Mark comes off as a male chauvinist throughout. In fact, as early as the review of episode 1. The way he "jokingly" revels in his own intelligence and, most severely, feels the need to continuously validate the observations of his female co-hosts adds a repugnant element to an otherwise great podcast. It would be appreciated if they held him accountable for much of the off-putting things he says and his general self-amplifying tone. Please, do better. Please BE better than this.

Dope podcast about the dopest show ever made

This podcast does right by the show - they explore in DETAIL the nuances of this show. History, backgrounds, of both the books and the US is explored. Hosts have interesting discussions. This show is so meaty, dying for dissection, and these hosts dig in with the gusto of Lestat stalking those youths who were necking in the woods.
