Ep. 120: The Heartbreaking Story of Mr. Fred

Ep. 120: The Heartbreaking Story of Mr. Fred

Today's episode begins at 20:27 and yes we chat a lot today, but I promise it is all relevant to the case and our own personal experience inside the classroom, because this is something we are passionate about.

Teachers and staff members working with special education students in the Northside Independent School District expressed their distress over a series of violent incidents, highlighting the urgent need for improved staffing, training, and support. The plea for action came in the wake of a tragic event on February 17, 2024, when Alfred "Mr. Fred" Joseph Jimenez, a 73-year-old instructional assistant at Brandeis High School, sustained fatal injuries while attempting to intervene with a student. Jimenez's death was deemed a homicide and is under investigation by the San Antonio Police Department.

I absolutely love you ladies and look forward to my Monday morning drives every week! I found y’all while on maternity leave earlier last year and binged in no time! Not a teacher myself but have recommended y’all to all of my friends! Ignore the haters…y'all's banter makes me feel like I’m talking to 2 of my closest friends! 🩷✌🏻 Love y’all! ❤️

This Gold Star’s for youuuuu!

This pod was made for me. Thank y’all. It’s nice to hear cases that every other pod isn’t covering. And as a teacher and mom, I appreciate the tangents; the conversations are always relevant and interesting. It feels like I’m having a convo with my teacher besties in the faculty room. I have recommended this podcast to everyone who’ll listen.

Ccross316 ,

I told you I’d give you your 5 stars!

I was your star student a while back. I sent a review by email and promised when I figured out how to leave a review by podcast I would! Well here I am. I still absolutely love your podcast. I listen to it when I go to work and back. If I ever miss an episode, you best believe I’m about to binge listen. Keep working hard ladies. Y'all have a big future ahead! ❤️❤️❤️
