Bedrock: Earth's Earliest History

This podcast starts at the beginning of Earth's prehistory and works forward through time. Bedrock will explore the first 90% of Earth’s past, a time known as the Precambrian Era. Before humans, before dinosaurs… there was the Precambrian. The Earth was an incredibly alien world, but not a dead one. Along the way, you will build a mental toolkit to see the world like a geologist. You will never look at a mountain, the moon, or pond scum in quite the same way again. Welcome to Bedrock. it’s both informative and very soothing and I like to listen to it as I wind down my day. I’m learning a lot and just yesterday I got to share a fun fact (world’s oldest rock) in conversation.
Informative and approachable

As an economic geologist, I find Bedrock to be a delightful listen. My field is far removed from this, but it is exciting to learn about the early geology of the planet.
Phenomenal

Science the way it should be taught!

Why did it take me so long to find this! Dylan has all the ingredients of a successful teacher. I love that he highlights the pioneers (especially women) of science that have seldom have their stories told. Each podcast has simple answers to bring the content alive. He explains “What’s that like?” on all types of rocks. KISS (keep it simple student) method. I’m halfway through and will be listening from the beginning again once I’m done.
