    New Water Efficiency Standards

    New Water Efficiency Standards

Although record snow has greatly improved drought conditions in Utah this year, Utah will always need to be concerned about drought. Draper City recently took an additional step in long-term planning for water conservation as the city council adopted changes to our landscaping requirements to make them more water-wise, including the adoption of Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District’s (JVWCD) standards for water efficiency. The City’s application of these new requirements and standards will be mainly focused on new development but with these changes come additional benefits for current residents and businesses who want to make the change to more water-efficient landscaping.

Cynthia Bee, Public Information Officer for Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, and Jennifer Jastremsky, Community Development Director for Draper City join Mayor Walker to discuss these changes and benefits.

Understanding is key to unity

I appreciate the insight these podcasts give Draper citizens. I am learning how the city is managed and what factors go into all of the decision making. I hope this podcast will help unify as we understand what the city is doing to keep things great. Thank you for helping us to be an integral part of our city!

Tree committee

Wow the tree committee and the mayor really dislike Home Depot. And big box stores calling them out multiple times in the tree podcast. I wonder what their motivation is ? Who gets to pick winners and losers the mayor? The IFA in Draper has wonderful trees even though it’s not a nursery it’s a local institution that should not be avoided.

A few thoughts

I like the podcast quite a bit. Very informative and I like the sense of community it’s hoping to create. Keep the episodes coming. One other thought, I voted for Troy, but at this point I don’t know if I could vote for him again. He seems very full of himself! He clearly is a good dude and he is going to let you know about it. Hoping for a MLB team is Draper as well!
