Deidre Has A New Album!
It's true. I've been away, but I'm back with a brand new album, The Year of Lost and Found: A Pand'opera!
It was written during lockdown and clocks in at a whopping 22 minutes. The songs range from funny to moody, and I'm really proud of it.
In this episode, I preview 3 tunes from the album, and throw in one written with my longtime collaborator, Byron Isaacs from The Lumineers.
You can get my album on all platforms starting April 10th! -

60. David Garland is Interested and Curious!
Welcome to The Song Inside’s second season, focusing on Music and Healing.
Settle in with a cozy blanket and perhaps some tissues, as David Garland takes us through the remarkable journey of his life as a visual artist, musical creator, and radio host of Spinning On Air, a weekly music show on WNYC for 28 years. After his wife Anne received a terminal cancer diagnosis, David and his son Kenji created and played music together in the room directly below Anne’s bedroom throughout the months leading up to her passing.
In this episode, we talk about creating without presumption, trusting our curiosity, and exploring ambiguity.

Love the Lullaby Episodes!
I was so happy to discover Deidre’s podcast and especially enjoyed the episodes with Falu Shah and Manuel Bagorro as all three of them shared some of their experiences with Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute’s Lullaby Project. I look forward to more!
Deirdre’s work here is beautiful.
I loved being interviewed by DD! Her questions and the dialogue were fun and real and deep She’s not afraid to tackle heavy subjects but keeps the joy flowing. You can tell she really believes that everyone has a song inside and that her conviction is contagious! Rock on with your bad self!
Warm and empowering!
Deirdre is a nurturing interviewer who does her homework about each artist she has on her podcast. Because she is a phenomenal musician in her own right, she really knows what to ask and what to point out. She chooses an amazing roster of artists to speak with and the interviews are so fun and engaging.
